Our man Mr. Scott: "Hiddink is on the pitch! Wearing what look suspiciously like pyjamas the Dutch coach has just strode a good few yards onto the playing surface here. He is quickly led back to his dugout by the fourth official. Pardew is clearly not impressed by the Anzhi boss's antics."

The Newcastle fans are celebrating wildly. They smell blood here. One goal would send them through to the last-eight with the score on aggregate at 0-0."
53'
On second look it seems like there may have been a superb last ditch tackle on Taylor there.
52'
Taylor should score! Marveaux's free kick from the right is flicked on towards the centre-back but he hits it straight at Gabulov in the Anzhi goal from a yard out!

We're underway.
Hello and welcome to Goal.com's play-by-play text commentary of Newcastle's Europa League clash with Anzhi Makhachkala. The tie is delicately poised after a 0-0 draw in the first leg in Russia, and the Magpies will fancy their chances of progressing to the quarter-finals in front of their own fans tonight.
Let's hear from our very own Charlie Scott, who is at St James' Park tonight: "There is a sense of expectation in Newcastle that Alan Pardew's side will progress to the last-eight of the Europa League this evening having all but secured Premier League safety with their win over Stoke at the weekend. Despite being referred to as 'a warrior' by the local press in the build-up to the game, Shola Ameobi is only on the bench tonight. As suspected after his tweet a few moments ago Danny Simpson is not involved, with Davide Santon starting at right-back in his place."
And some more from Mr. Scott: "The North East club are without Hatem Ben Arfa after he aggravated a hamstring injury earlier this week. Cheick Tiote comes in to the side as they line up in a 4-3-2-1 formation, with the Ivorian playing alongside Yohan Cabayeand Vurnon Anita in a robust midfield with a sprinkling of flair in Cabaye, the man Newcastle fans fondly call 'Dreamboat'. Pardew's men will be boosted by the absence of £30m man Willian from the Anzhi starting XI, as well as seeing Lacina Traore only named as a substitute. However the tournament's top scorer Eto'o does start for the visitors - the former Barcelona and Inter Milan star is making his 100th European appearance this evening."
STAT ATTACK: Anzhi Makhachkala are the first Russian team to visit St. James’ Park for a European fixture.
Another little statistic for you; Newcastle have not reached the quarter-finals in Europe since 2005. Can they do it tonight? We'll have to wait and see.
Former Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o, now at Anzhi, is making his 100th European appearance tonight.
Here come the teams...
Charlie Scott: "There's a fantastic atmosphere here at St James's Park. Newcastle's fans are in full voice, while the pocket of brightly-clad Anzhi supporters in the far corner are whistling their little hearts out in an attempt to drown out the home crowd."
It's been an open 45 minutes so far at St James' Park, with Eto'o and Akhmedov going close for Anzhi - the latter after a poor mistake from Yanga-Mbiwa - and Taylor also getting in Diarra's way a couple of times. Cabaye has seen a decent effort saved for the hosts, who have enjoyed a few spells of dominance in possession but are just struggling to create many clear chances.
The tie remains in the balance, then, and as Newcastle are without an away goal you feel they must score first after the break. Stay with us.
Here's our man at the game this evening, Charlie Scott, and his take on proceedings so far: "It's half-time here at St. James's with neither side managing to break the deadlock so far. Anzhi have looked the more likely to do so, with Odil Ahmedov and Samuel Eto'o both firing narrowly wide. Pardew's men have looked toothless in attacking areas and have not been helped by the enforced departure of their skilful captain Yohan Cabaye because of injury. Steven Taylor - fresh from his unorthodox gamesmanship at Stoke at the weekend - has been very good at the back for the Magpies, and has thrown his body in front of three Lassana Diarra shots in the first half. This tie is finely poised for a Newcastle hero. The 18-year-old forward Adam Campbell, perhaps, or maybe the seasoned warrior Shola Ameobi. If Big-Sho came on today he would become the most capped player in Europe for the club, surpassing Alan Shearer's record of 49."
They took their time, but Newcastle finally took advantage of the extra man with the final touch of the game as Cisse's last gasp winner puts them into the next stage. After a first half in which Anzhi had the edge, the Magpies were frustrated in the second but, with help from their best player Marveaux, the Senegalese striker came up with the goods late on to send the Geordie boys into the last eight for the first time in eight years.
Thanks for joining us, and make sure you stick around for all the reaction.
