The final whistle is blown and Fenrebahce have taken control of the tie with 2-0 win in Istanbul.
90' +4
Raul Meireles gets yellow.
Yet another booking as Raul Meireles is rightly penalised for a dangerous tackle. Nani was sent off at Old Trafford against Real Madrid for something similar.
90' +2
The home side look very happy with their night's work, and the celebrations on the bench gave the impression that they feel that could be a key moment in the tie.
90'
S. Mauri gets yellow.
D. Kuijt has scored a goal for Fenerbahce!
Mauri has only just entered the field of play but he has already picked up a yellow card after being penalised for a high foot on Gonul.
GOAL!!! Is this the goal that could seal the tie? Possibly not, but it could prove very important. Erkin's dipping free-kick can only be parried and Kuyt, as he has been so many times in his career, is on the spot to steer in the rebound. Into five minutes of stoppage time.
88'
Marchetti keeps it at 1-0 as Ziegler hits one from distance that the goalkeeper parries away low to his left. He then tangles with Webo as a cross comes in, and wins the free-kick from the goalscorer.
86'
S. Mauri enters the game and replaces Hernanes.
M. Topuz enters the game and replaces M. Sow.
Sow, who signalled he wanted to come off some time ago, eventually gives way, with Mehmet Topuz replacing him for the final five minutes.
Petkovic hints that he doesn't want to concede another goal as Hernanes departs for the slightly more defensive-minded Mauri.
84'
Lazio have gone into their shell now and look like they are going to try and get out of Turkey with as small a deficit as possible. A 1-0 defeat away from home with 10-men wouldn't be disastrous.
82'
Nervous times for Lazio as Fenerbahce look to maximise their man advantage to full effect. Erkin gets forward down the right and curls in an effort from a tight angle that Marchetti juggles before finally taking control of it.
80'
Wild celebrations accompanied that goal, and in truth the home side have deserved it. The decision was fairly soft but Radu's arm was outstretched when the ball struck it.
79'
P. Webó gets yellow.
Minute
Description
78'
Penalty goal scored by P. Webó for Fenerbahce!
Ş. Radu gets yellow.
PENALTY TO FENERBAHCE! More drama with the officials here as Erkin's header from a half-cleared corner hits Radu's hand. The referee doesn't spot it, but his assistant behind the goal does and awards a spot-kick. Radu is booked for his indiscretion. GOAL!!! Webo steps up and coolly sends Marchetti the wrong way. Lazio may just try to hang onto this now so as not to have a mountain to climb back in Rome.
75'
S. Uçan enters the game and replaces Cristian Baroni.
Second change of the night for the hosts as Baroni is replaced by Salih Ucan. Just under 15 minutes for him to make an impact.
74'
A good cross-field ball from Candreva finds Radu on the left, but the full-back's efforts is high, wide and not very handsome. Lazio still hanging on though.
72'
M. Klose enters the game and replaces L. Kozák.
Substitution up front for the visitors now, as Miroslav Klose makes his entrance at the expense of Kozak. Can the big German break the deadlock?
71'
C. Erkin enters the game and replaces M. Topal.
Change for the home side as Erkin replaces Topal in midfield.
70'
Sow seems to have miraculously recovered from his apparent injury and goes close. Webo drives into the box before finding his strike partner, who curls the effort just over the top, though the referee gives a corner.
68'
Another half-chance for the home side as a cross to the back post finds Webo. The striker reaches the ball with his head but he can't control it and it skews well wide.
66'
Sow, who has some strapping round his right thigh, pulls up as he chases a ball into the corner, and signals to the bench he needs to come off. Could be the last we see of the striker tonight.
64'
Baroni wins the ball on the edge of the are and tries to play Webo in. Marchetti is quick off his line and the chance is gone.
62'
C. Ledesma enters the game and replaces Ederson.
First substitution of the evening, with Ledesma replacing Ederson for the visitors.
61'
Lazio are holding their own since they lost Onazi, and still look like they could sneak an away goal.
59'
The 10 men aren't going to lie down in this one, and Candreva does well again to create some room and fire in a shot. It flies into the side netting and the home side escape.
58'
Raul Meireles obviously feels he has his shooting boots on as he fires in another long-range strike. This one is slightly easier for Marchetti, as he gathers it at the second attempt.
56'
GREAT SAVE! Another good effort from distance from Meireles but this time his effort is well turned round the post by Marchetti. Best piece of goalkeeping so far.
55'
Chance for the visitors as they win a free-kick 30 yards from goal. Hernanes steps up but he goes for power rather than placement and sees his shot fly over the bar.
54'
F. Marchetti gets yellow.
The home side's tails are up and Sow almost forces Gonul's cross home at the near post. Marchetti is then booked, and in all honesty, I'm not sure what for.
51'
Ederson gets yellow.
All getting a bit ugly as Ederson is booked for dissent. He had won the free-kick but didn't agree with the referee not issuing a yellow card.
50'
Lazio are trying not to let that red card affect them, and they test Demirel from distance as Hernanes tries his luck. His shot is deflected, and the goalkeeper holds on well.
49'
SO CLOSE! Fenerbahce almost capitalise on that decision straight away as Meireles curls an effort from just outside the box against Marchetti's post. Second time the hosts have hit the woodwork this evening.
47'
O. Onazi gets a second yellow card and is sent off.
RED CARD!! Advantage Fenerbahce, but this looks a little harsh. Onazi was booked in the first half for accumulation. I can't remember him being penalised since, but his first discretion after the break has resulted in a second booking and therefore a red. Lazio down to 10.
46'
Lazio kick-off and we are back underway in Istanbul.
45' +2
E. Korkmaz gets yellow.
Korkmaz picks up a booking for a late challenge, and the referee immediately blows for half-time.
45'
As we enter two minutes of stoppage time, Sow almost finds himself clean through on goal. Gonzalez's mistimed clearance almost finds the former Lyon striker, but a combination of Onazi's strength and Marchetti's bravery means the chance is gone.
44'
No one has been as quiet as Dirk Kuyt in this match, but he wins a free-kick on the halfway line. Just a minute till half-time now.
42'
Lulic wins the ball in midfield and comes inside of the left flank. After finding space he sends in a cross towards Kozak, but the big striker is unable to get on the end of it.
40'
Candreva, who has been quiet after an enterprising start, tries his luck from around 40 yards, but his shot is blocked and Fenerbahce can clear. Defences still on top in Istanbul.
38'
Good chance for Lazio as a goal kick finds its way to Ederson in acres of space. He drives forward but takes a heavy touch as he makes his way into the box, allowing the defence to get back and clear.
36'
Radu gets forward down the left and plays a low ball into the box. Gomzalez slides in under pressure from Yobo but he stabs it well wide of the near post.
35'
Game has entered a bit of a lull, with Cana ending any attacks that the home side try to launch.
33'
The battle between Hernanes and Meireles has been quite intriguing. The Lazio playmaker's trickery gets the better of the former Liverpool man this time, winning the visitors a free-kick, which is wasted.
31'
O. Onazi gets yellow.
First booking of the game as Onazi brings down Baroni. Looked a nothing challenge, but the referee indicates it was not his first offence.
29'
Marchetti is back on his feet after some treatment and we are back underway.
27'
He instead chooses to cross, and after some pinball in the box, Marchetti goes down clutching his face after a challenge with Korkmaz.
26'
Ederson in action at the other end, bringing down Topal within sight of goal. Chance for Baroni to strike one from here.
24'
Gonzalez wins the ball for Lazio in the centre circle and feeds Ederson. The Brazilian runs at the heart of the defence before unleashing a shot from 20 yards. Yobo manages to deflect it wide, and the corner is too close to Demirel.
23'
A speculative effort from Meireles almost works in Fenerbahce's favour as it hits Webo, but a good recovery challenge from Cana beats Sow to the ball. The home side's forwards are causing some problems.
21'
Good period of possession for Lazio ends with Onazi giving it away in midfield. Both sides feeling each other out after a slightly frantic opening.
19'
Despite the penalty not being given, there have been plenty of free-kicks in this match thus far. Kuyt is the latest to be fouled, but the Turkish side cannot capitalise from the set piece.
17'
OFF THE POST! Almost the opening goal, as Lulic's attempted clearance is charged down. The ball falls at Sow's feet, who strikes it well first time. His effort drifts away from Marchetti, but comes back off the woodwork, with Webo unable to latch onto the rebound.
15'
Lazio coach Petkovic is still questioning that decision by the referee, but he isn't going to change his mind. You have seen them given.
13'
Big appeals for a penalty from Lazio. They steal the ball in the middle of the park and spread the play well to Lulic on the left. The midfielder drives forward before playing in Ederson. The forward goes down under Korkmaz's challenge, but the referee waves play on.
12'
Candreva has been the pick of the players on show so far this evening, and Lazio again try to unleash him down the right. The ball is too heavy, though, and it rolls out for a goal kick.
10'
Best chance of the game, and it comes from another marauding run down the right hand side from Candreva. The midfielder swings over a tempting cross that Hernanes can only head straight at the goalkeeper.
8'
After coming under a small period of pressure, the visitors look to get it forward, but Kozak cannot hold it up and Demirel has time to collect.
6'
Meireles wins a free-kick midway inside the Lazio half, but a training ground routine involving Baroni and the Portuguese midfielder ends in them losing possession.
4'
First half-chance of the game, and it falls to the home side. A through ball over the top beats the whole of the Lazio defence, but Sow can't bring it fully under control and can only scuff his effort from the edge of the area wide.
3'
Lazio seeing lots of the ball early on and certainly trying to take the game to their hosts. A good run by Candreva wins them a corner on the right, but it is cleared.
1'
Fenerbahce kick-off and we are underway.
An early bang to the head for Topal after an aerial clash with Hernanes, but the midfielder is fine to carry on.
Hello and welcome to Goal.com's LIVE coverage of the Europa League quarter-final first leg between Fenerbahce and Lazio. Both sides are their respective country's sole surviving representatives in the competition and will be looking to gain an advantage ahead of the second leg in Rome. I'm Tom Maston, and you can get in touch with thoughts on the match on Twitter @maston91.
The teams are in ahead of this last eight encounter...
The home side are currently second in the Turkish Super Lig, four points behind rivals Galatasaray. They knocked out Viktoria Plzen in the last round, and hopes will be high in Istanbul that they can progress further in Europe.
The Italian outfit at lie sixth in Serie A, and still harbour slim Champions League ambitions as they sit seven points behind third-placed Milan. They knocked out German side Stuttgart in the last 16 and there are thoughts in Italy that if they can go further in the tournament, it could lead to more Italian sides taking the competition seriously.
As always, there is a full house at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadyumu, and the teams will be able to hear the supporters as they wait inside the tunnel. Just five minutes till kick-off now.
A wall of noise hits the players as they make their way onto the pitch for the only quarter-final tie not involving an English side. The Europa League anthem blares out, which means it won't be long till the game gets underway.
We are all set for kick-off. The Europa League quarter-finals are almost upon us!
The teams are back out and we all ready for the restart.
@KeyLP85 has asked whether either side looks like scoring in Twitter, and I'd say there's definitely a goal in this one. Which way, I'm not so sure.
So, an entertaining half with little in clear-cut chances. Sow went closest when his effort hit the post while Lazio look dangerous on the break. What did you make of the first half? Which way do you see this one going? Get in touch on Twitter @maston91. I'll be back for the second period.
So the Turkish side will travel to Italy knowing an away goal would all but seal their passage into the semi-finals. A Webo penalty and Kuyt's late goal has put them firmly in the driving seat ahead of the return leg.
You get the feeling Lazio, and Petkovic especially, won't be happy with the officiating. The red card and penalty were both pretty harsh and were the two turning points in the match. They won't feel everything is lost but they'll need a great performance at home to reach the last four.
A great night of Europa League football has come to an end. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. I've been Tom Maston, and I'll see you next time.
