Important clearance at the back post from Hector! The left-back hoofs away a dangerous cross, sparking a German break! Podolski scampers into the box under pressure from Devere, before poking a stabbed effort just wide of the post.
89'
We're into the dying embers in Kaiserslautern, with Germany leading the late charge. After a very poor second half, Low will presumably be content to take a draw away from this friendly fixture. Podolski cuts in from the right, before arrowing an effort just over the crossbar.
87'
T. Jurić enters the game and replaces J. Troisi.
Germany streak upfield after a misplaced pass from Jedinak, but a pass out to the right-hand side is too heavy for Schurrle to chase. Low's men are hunting for a winning goal, with the home crowd urging them on whenever their players are surging towards Ryan's goal.
85'
Die Mannschaft are moving the ball with much more intensity and purpose now, with Postecoglou's men perhaps clinging onto a result now! Kruse is picked out by Ozil just inside the box, but the substitute blasts some way over the crossbar from a fairly tight angle.
83'
Suddenly, Germany are full of belief! Ozil slips a through ball into the path of Kramer, but the Leverkusen midfielder is unable to battle through some bodies to receive it. Australia then break, but Leckie fires wide from 25 yards out.
81'
Ł. Podolski has scored a goal for Germany! Assist by A. Schürrle.
GOOOOOOOOOAL! PODOLSKI NETS THE EQUALISER! The substitute is present at the back post to sweep home a composed finish, with Australia's solid defending escaping them! Schurrle does brilliantly to pick out his teammate, who was never going to miss from there!
80'
The Socceroos are more than content to let Germany have the ball, with Die Mannschaft lacking the incisiveness required to pierce the away side's armour. Schweinsteiger looks on from the bench, this has been a far from impressive performance from the hosts. Leckie clips in a cross from the right, but Zieler claims.
78'
B. Wright enters the game and replaces A. Wilkinson.
Wright and Bozanic come into the fray, as the visitors attempt to freshen up their side for a solid final 10 minutes. Australia are pressing well and remaining organised, with Germany having plenty of possession but never in productive areas.
77'
O. Bozanic enters the game and replaces M. McKay.
76'
A corner is whipped in from the left-hand side, but a thumping header from Mustafi is well blocked. The former Sampdoria man doesn't appear to be feeling sore after that terrible fall, that's for sure. As the clock ticks down, Germany continue to look void of creativity.
Minute
Description
74'
Podolski turns a back-post effort wide of the target, with the Inter striker looking for a vital equaliser in this contest. To lose to Australia, despite their improvements under Postecoglou, would be rather embarrassing for a team who have a World Cup win under their belts.
73'
M. Kruse enters the game and replaces M. Götze.
Ł. Podolski enters the game and replaces M. Reus.
72'
Good block from Wilkinson! The defender throws himself into a desperate challenge to deny Howedes at the back post, before Mustafi heads the resulting corner over the bar. Low has two substitutes at the ready, with Kruse and Podolski waiting to be injected into the action.
71'
Brilliant counter from Australia! Oar races down the left-hand side, before clipping a good cross towards the back post. Leckie rises well to meet it, but can only direct a finish the wrong side of the near post! Postecoglou's men are still looking likely to take a win from this contest.
70'
Only 20 minutes remain on the clock for Germany to turn this game around, with the onus now placed on Ozil after the former Real Madrid man took the captain's armband. Schurrle whips in a cross from the left, but Gotze fails to make contact with a hesitant back-heel flick.
69'
A. Mooy enters the game and replaces M. Milligan.
68'
Terrible fall for Mustafi! The Valencia defender rises over Oar to win a header, but lands extremely awkwardly! All of his weight thuds onto his right shoulder, in what appears to be a very sore accident! Meanwhile, Mooy is introduced for Australia.
66'
Hector and Schurrle look to combine down the left, but good pressing from the Socceroos keeping forcing mistakes from the hosts. The former Chelsea man is guilty of it this time, with the visitors heading down the other end and winning a corner as a result.
64'
A. Schürrle enters the game and replaces K. Bellarabi.
Almost a huge mistake from Zieler! The goalkeeper is caught in possession by Leckie, but Hector is able to bail his teammate out and shield the loose ball clear of danger. Neuer watches on from the bench!
63'
C. Kramer enters the game and replaces S. Khedira.
Kramer and Schurrle are introduced for the hosts, with Low opting to shuffle his pack and see what his full squad can do. After a brilliant World Cup, the former will be hoping to nail down a starting berth for Die Mannschaft, even with the return of Khedira and Gundogan.
62'
Solid save from Ryan! Bellarabi is found in space on the right, before rifling a powerful effort towards goal on his second touch! The goalkeeper rises well to beat the strike over the crossbar, with Australia starting to come under heavy pressure.
61'
T. Oar enters the game and replaces N. Burns.
Wide from Bellarabi! The winger fires a low cross into the six-yard box, but it skips on the turf and beyond the far post! Oar is introduced for the visitors, with Burns the man withdrawn. Low is readying some substitutes of his own, which may disrupt the flow of the match.
59'
Gotze and Reus have been very quiet in the second half thus far, with Australia's organised ranks proving hard to break down. The switch to four at the back has made things a lot more even in terms of individual match-ups in midfield, meaning that retaining the ball has become slightly harder for Low's men.
57'
Good goalkeeping from Ryan! Bellarabi uses his pace to race down the right-hand side, but an errant touch from the Leverkusen man allows for the Australia goalkeeper to scamper out and smother the loose ball.
56'
Milligan and Howedes collide rather viciously, with the Schalke defender appearing to lock his leg and clash knees with his opponent. He's quickly back to his feet, however, with the physios not required. Germany haven't started the second half in the way they would have liked.
54'
Just wide from Troisi! The midfielder cuts in from the left-hand side, before outpacing Rudy and getting into the penalty area. Under pressure from Howedes, the Australia wide man can only guide a finish beyond the right-hand post! He should have done better with that.
52'
Troisi is forced to receive some treatment, after a clash of heads with Mustafi. The German defender looks to be fine to continue, but Hummels is sent out to warm up as a precaution. Stopping the bleeding is the issue for both sets of physios.
50'
M. Jedinak has scored a goal for Australia!
GOOOOOOOOOOOAL! AUSTRALIA TAKE THE LEAD THROUGH JEDINAK! The Socceroos' captain steps up to the free kick, before curling the ball over the wall and into the back of the net! Zieler just can't get across quickly enough to deny the Crystal Palace midfielder!
49'
Good save from Ryan! Reus curls in a right-footed effort from the right flank, but the Australia goalkeeper gets up well to turn the ball over his crossbar. The resulting corner is headed wide by Mustafi. Moments later, the visitors break, before Troisi wins a free kick from Gundogan.
47'
Rudy replaces Badstuber for the hosts, with Low opting to change his system at the break. Howedes and Mustafi are now at the heart of the defence, with the Hoffenheim midfielder tasked with sitting in at right-back to allow Bellarabi to push on.
46'
S. Rudy enters the game and replaces H. Badstuber.
We are back underway in the second half of this international friendly between Germany and Australia! The two sides are currently level, with a very competitive 45 minutes head of us in Kaiserslautern.
44'
Khedira is picked out in space on the edge of the box, but the Real Madrid man is caught slightly offside. Australia have held a very good line so far in this game, with Postecoglou having his charges all reading from the same page.
42'
We're only a few minutes from the break, with the home crowd a little bit stunned. Low is visibly furious with the goal that Die Mannschaft conceded, with Troisi not having any right to get across his marker and meet the cross from Burns. Not quite the dream half!
40'
J. Troisi has scored a goal for Australia! Assist by N. Burns.
GOOOOOOOOOAL! TROISI HEADS HOME THE EQUALISER! Australia work their way down the left-hand side, before Burns delivers an excellent cross from the byline. The midfielder gets across his man well to direct a reasonable headed effort across goal and beyond the despairing grasp of Zieler!
39'
Ryan is nearly robbed of possession by Reus, but the goalkeeper holds his nerve to blast the ball upfield under heavy pressure. Germany are creating enough chances as it is, Postecoglou won't be wanting any of his players lending the opposition any assistance!
37'
Hector works his way to the byline well, combining with Khedira well in the process, but the former's eventual looping cross is dealt with by Davidson. The resulting corner is easily cleared, but Germany continue to exert almost total control over proceedings in Kaiserslautern.
35'
There are 10 minutes left on the clock in the first half, with the crowd rather pleased with what they have seen from Die Mannschaft thus far. Low's men have retained the ball and created a few excellent opportunities, with Reus in particular showing in attack what he would have offered to Germany during the World Cup.
33'
Zieler denies a breaking Leckie, with the goalkeeper sliding in to dispossess the Australia forward on the edge of the penalty box. Moments later, Burns breaks down the left, before Badstuber heads away a dangerous-looking cross from Davidson. Two half chances in quick succession for the visitors!
31'
The opening half an hour have been very positive for Germany, with Leckie the only real problem for hosts. The raw pace of the Australia forward is a concern, especially if the likes of Howedes and Badstuber fail to distribute from defence properly. Postecoglou's side are struggling to press effectively at the moment.
29'
Jedinak shoots from 30 yards out, but Zieler gets across well to make sure that the ball doesn't creep inside his post. Australia win themselves a corner as a result, but a second delivery into the area by the Crystal Palace midfielder nestles in the goalkeeper's gloves.
27'
Hector is found on the edge of the penalty area, with the Koln man failing to hit the target with an ambitious effort. He leans back, sending the ball into the stand behind Ryan's net. It is all Die Mannschaft at the moment, with Low's system ensuring that Germany are maintaining constant control.
25'
Germany have had plenty of excellent chances in the last few minutes, which might come back to bite them before the final whistle! Reus has been guilty of not capitalising on his opportunities, with the hosts' bench looking to be rather shocked that the Dortmund man hasn't made the scoreline 2-0 yet.
23'
Good stop from Ryan! Reus is fed in behind the Socceroos' back four, with the Dortmund man able to capitalise on a defensive error. He scampers into the box, committing the goalkeeper, but the Club Brugge shot-stopper stands tall to force a shot into the side netting! Big chance wasted.
21'
Gotze releases Reus in behind Devere, with Germany continuing to get some joy down the left-hand side. Hector tries to play Ozil into some space moments later, but the latter is caught offside despite being able to see the whole defensive line. No real excuse for that from the Arsenal man!
19'
In spite of a couple of half chances for Australia, Germany deserve their lead. Low's men have kept the ball well and been fairly clinical with their clear-cut chances, with Reus having done little before putting the ball in the back of the net. Gotze and Khedira combine in the penalty area, but a stray touch from the latter means that Ryan can smother.
17'
M. Reus has scored a goal for Germany! Assist by S. Khedira.
Goal ruled out for offside! Khedira unleashes a strike from the edge of the box, which is tapped home by Reus! The Dortmund forward, however, was clearly several yards offside and the linesman has his flag rightly raised.
GOOOOOOOOOAL! REUS MAKES IT 1-0! Same combination as the aforementioned offside finish! Khedira bursts down the left, displaying pace and power, before picking out a smart pass into the penalty area. It flashes across goal, with Reus able to prod the ball past a wrongfooted Ryan!
16'
Reus sees a shot blocked deep within the visiting penalty area, before Germany keep the pressure on. Hector is found on the left-hand by a wonderful switch of play, but the left wing-back can only send a low drive some way wide of the post.
14'
Just wide from Burns! The Wellington striker is picked out by a good cross from Davidson, after avoiding the challenge of Badstuber. The striker gets good contact on the ball, but his header whistles beyond the right-hand upright.
12'
Badstuber tries to pick out Bellarabi on the right-hand side, but the latter is caught criminally offside. Germany are trying to use their wing-backs to good effect, but Gotze and Reus remain relatively anonymous. There's a certain lack of physicality in the home side's midfield and attack, save for Khedira.
10'
Hector is almost found overlapping by Gundogan, but a sliding tackle from Franjic denies the Koln man. While Germany have controlled play, Australia look very dangerous on the break, with Burns and Leckie having the pace to cause the hosts' lumbering centre-backs some issues.
8'
The hosts are looking the stronger of the two sides at the moment, retaining possession with relative ease. Australia are not to be underestimated, however, with Postecoglou having his men extremely well drilled and organised. There's plenty of raw pace in this visiting team. Leckie drives in behind the Germany defence, before dragging a shot wide of the target.
6'
At the moment, it appears that Gotze and Reus are playing up top for the home side, with Hector and Bellarabi deployed as wing-backs on either flank. This is an interesting change of shape from Low, especially given the lack of serious training time for international teams.
4'
After a couple of quick breaks forward from the Socceroos, Germany manage to see a bit of extended possession. Wilkinson ensures that Hector's cross from the left byline is deflected behind for a corner, which is taken short before Ryan punches away the eventual cross. Gundogan then flashes a long-range drive just wide of the post.
2'
Burns almost manages to race in behind the hosts' back four, but Mustafi makes a vital recovering tackle. Moments later, Davidson tries to break down the left and nutmegs Bellarabi, but Howedes is able to shield the ball out of play.
1'
We are underway in the first half! Germany are in their customary white and black home kit, while Australia don their famous yellow and green attire.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of Germany's friendly against Australia, as Asia's champions come to Europe in order to test their international mettle. While Angelos Postecoglou will be looking to maintain the Socceroos recent good form and success, Die Mannschaft will attempt to usher in a new era after World Cup silverware last year. There are plenty of new faces in Joachim Low's squad, with the hosts hoping to get an idea of who will be key in the upcoming European Championship.
I'm Simon Harrison and I will be keeping you up to date with all of the action from Kaiserslautern, as Low's men look to reinvigorate themselves by including a few inexperienced personnel this evening. Their victory over Spain in November will certainly give the country continued hope of further success. Meanwhile, Australia were crowned Asian Cup champions in January, edging to the trophy with a win over South Korea in the final.
TEAM NEWS: Ron-Robert Zieler starts in goal for the home side, with Manuel Neuer missing out due to a knee problem. Jonas Hector of Koln comes into the back four, with Shkodran Mustafi and Holger Badstuber central defensive partners. Mesut Ozil and Sami Khedira get starts in midfield for Die Mannschaft, with Mario Gotze looking to be a false nine. Karim Bellarabi and Marco Reus start out wide after impressing in the Bundesliga this season.
TEAM NEWS: Mathew Ryan starts in between the posts for the travelling Socceroos after his recent win in the Belgian cup final with Club Brugge. Captain Mile Jedinak will be key in the middle of the park, with Nathan Burns getting a chance up top in the wake of good domestic form for Wellington Phoenix. Tommy Oar takes a seat on the bench, with the likes of Mathew Leckie and James Troisi providing creativity in midfield areas.
HALF TIME! The two teams go in level at the break, courtesy of goals from Reus and Troisi! The hosts have seen more of the ball, but Australia have perhaps created the better of the chances on the break. This is a very finely-balanced contest, with it having the capability to go either way. Be sure to rejoin us in 10 minutes!
FULL TIME! It ends as a draw in Germany, with the world champions and Asian champions failing to land a telling blow in the dying stages. Goals from Reus and Podolski cancelled out those from Troisi and Jedinak, with the Socceroos continuing to improve on the international stage. That's all that we have time for from Kaiserslautern, I've been Simon Harrison and I hope to see you again later.
