OFF THE BAR! That will surely do it now! Khedira gets on the end of this cross, make no doubt about it, but a slight deflection from Evans is enough to take it onto the bar!
90' +2
Corner to Germany. That could well be their best and last chance to salvage a draw and it is squandered as the delivery is poor, allowing USA to clear. The pressure stays on, but another poor ball in from Ozil is collected easily by Guzan, who is then toppled over by Rudiger.
90'
There will be four minutes of time added on at the end of this match as Germany try and avoid just a third defeat in 28 matches.
89'
This crowd has been stunned into silence. As was the case at the Amsterdam ArenA on Friday, the lone cheers are coming from the contingent of American supporters in the stands. Jurgen Klinsmann has this team playing at the top of their game at the moment, seeking a second consecutive friendly victory against a European powerhouse.
87'
B. Wood has scored a goal for United States! Assist by B. Evans.
WOOD THE HERO AGAIN! Reach out and touch it, Bobby! For the second match running, the substitute has surely snatched it at the death. A superb turn allows him to shake Mustafi far too easily and he drives a shot low and into the corner past Zieler! Incredible moment for the striker!
86'
Into the final four minutes plus stoppage time. The visitors looke the likelier team at the moment to find a winner, but you would hardly put it beyond Germany to snatch victory with a late bit of class. At the time being, however, it is the Americans in possession showing no signs of giving it up.
84'
Yedlin has been a real bright spot since coming on at the break. He's very direct with his play and his pace has left Hector with his hands full. The Tottenham wing-back makes yet another run down the flank and has options in the centre, but a good block from Hector diverts the ball safely into the arms of his keeper.
82'
SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE WINNER! It's Bradley again, this time teed up for a shot just inside the top of the area following a lovely ball in from the right. He hits it first time, but Zieler manages to stick out his trailing leg to keep it out! An inch to the right and Bradley has his goal there!
80'
OH NO HE DIDN'T! Bradley stands, set to deliver yet another corner. This time he goes for goal from the set piece, shockingly, and it nearly works for him ad Zieler is just able to knock it out off the line! He scored from the same spot against Panama in February this year.
Minute
Description
78'
STAT ATTACK: Germany have lost just two of their last 26 matches across all competitions since a 4-3 defeat at the hands of the United States in a June 2013 friendly (W17, D7, L2).
76'
INSTANT IMPACT! Wood, who was the hero on Friday in Amsterdam, tries his luck with a strike from just outside the area. Zieler flies through the air at full stretch but can't reach it as the effort sails narrowly wide of the far post! What a goal that would have been!
74'
B. Wood enters the game and replaces A. Jóhannsson.
A. Morales enters the game and replaces M. Diskerud.
J. Morris enters the game and replaces G. Zardes.
There will be a slew of substitutions here with just over 15 minutes to play. Max Kruse and Karim Bellarabi replace Mario Gotze and Patrick Herrmann for the hosts. Alfredo Morales, Jordan Morris and Bobby Wood come on for the Americans as they inject a bit of youth to their side, with Diskerud, Johannsson and Zardes giving way.
73'
K. Bellarabi enters the game and replaces P. Herrmann.
M. Kruse enters the game and replaces M. Götze.
72'
Well possession remains with the Germans, and they haven't given it away for more than a few seconds in over five minutes. Despite their prolonged spell in attack, they can't find that bit of inspiration they so desperately need as the Yanks defend their lines well.
70'
D. Yedlin gets yellow.
The hosts are starting to find their legs as the pressure yet again builds on the USA goal. Ozil is looking lively in midfield and he shows some impressive pace to sprint through the centre and draw a foul from the tackle by Yedlin, who picks up a yellow card. That's a slice of the North London derby in this international friendly match.
68'
Germany continue to enjoy the bulk of possession, but they are struggling to create much with it, with the exception of that latest delivery from Herrmann. In stark contrast to the first half, it is now the USA who are generating the better of the chances with their limited time in attack.
66'
HAS TO BE IN! Herrmann continues to make himself a nuisance on the flank, providing a tremendous ball in to pick out Khedira. The midfielder rises well to meet it, but somehow can't make clean contact under little to no pressure as his effort trickles out the other side of the area.
64'
We've entered a cagey period with the stoppages preventing any sort of tempo from taking shape. Just over 25 minutes to play now and the scoreline has us perfectly poised for a grandstand finish.
62'
STAT ATTACK: The last friendly encounter between the two teams came in June 2013 at the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium in Washington, D.C. The United States and Jurgen Klinsmann shocked the soon-to-be world champions that day with a 4-3 victory, aided by a second-half Clint Dempsey brace.
60'
C. Kramer enters the game and replaces İ. Gündoğan.
The stoppage allows Germany to make their third change, and it is Christoph Kramer who comes on to make his 10th appearance for the senior team, replacing Gundogan.
59'
There's a bit of a delay now as Rudiger goes down in a heap following a coming together with Zardes. The defender appeared to take a blow in the stomach, perhaps getting a bit winded in the process. Nonetheless, he is back to his feet and play should resume momentarily.
57'
INCREDIBLE BLOCK! Zardes wins a corner for the USA, which Bradley takes, and then the winger gets on the end of the following delivery to volley a shot at goal. His effort is knocked down, but the follow-up from Beckerman is blocked fearlessly by Mustafi!
55'
Back and forth they go in Koln as the pace again picks up. It's making for some lovely viewing, with Germany intent on attacking down the left and USA the right. Plenty of men getting forward by both sides as they push for a go-ahead goal.
53'
Well it is the American who pick up where they left off at the end of the first half as they get forward on the front foot. DeAndre Yedlin looks a real menace with the pace he provides, but the final ball is lacking as the attack comes to nothing.
51'
CRUCIAL INTERVENTION. Johannsson delivers a tremendous back-heel pass into the path of Diskerud, who delivers a lovely first-time ball to play Zardes through. Mustafi is beaten, but Rudy arrives to provide some vital cover as he slides in carefully from behind to knock the ball away.
49'
The hsts push forward and win an early corner which is delivered in invitingly by Ozil. Mustafi rushes on to meet it, but his determined approach sees him topple over Brooks as the referee calls for a foul.
47'
The USA make three changes of their own, bringing on Brad Evans, DeAndre Yedlin and Kyle Beckerman. Off in their stead are Fabian Johnson, Danny Williams and Juan Agudelo. For Germany, it is Bastian Schweinsteiger and Andre Schurrle who give way.
46'
K. Beckerman enters the game and replaces D. Williams.
S. Khedira enters the game and replaces B. Schweinsteiger.
B. Evans enters the game and replaces F. Johnson.
D. Yedlin enters the game and replaces J. Agudelo.
Ł. Podolski enters the game and replaces A. Schürrle.
Here we go again! Sami Khedira, as was promised by Joachim Low, comes on for the second half. Lukas Podolski also makes his way onto the pitch to a thunderous applause from these Koln fans whom he played in front of for six years over the course of his club career.
45'
And that will do it for an entertaining first half in Koln!
43'
DREADFUL FINISH! This is eerily similar to what we saw from the USA on Friday in Amsterdam. They get a bit of belief and run with it. Here they are pushing for a second before the break and they carve out a good opportunity for Zardes, but his final effort is poor as it lifts well over the bar from the top of the area.
41'
M. Diskerud has scored a goal for United States! Assist by M. Bradley.
PARITY RESTORED IN KOLN! They've made this spell count, have the Americans! It's a goal for the highlight reel as Bradley delivers a tremendous ball over the top to pick out the run of Diskerud, who controls it beautifully with his chest, in stride, and produces a finish deserving of the build-up play.
39'
This is a much better spell from the Americans, their best of the evening thus far, with half time approaching. They mimic the Germans on the ball, patiently working it around in attack, though the difference in creativity cannot be understated as they struggle to breakdown this defence.
37'
The USA finally manage to relieve the pressure, if only for a moment, and get forward with an attack of their own. Diskerud makes a good run on the left and picks out Bradley in the centre. He has a clear sight at goal, but gets his first touch all wrong as the chance again comes to nothing.
35'
PENALTY APPEALS DENIED! Another teasing through ball plays Schurrle into the area, and he goes down in a heap following a challenge from Chandler. The ex-Chelsea winger screams for a call, but nothing is given and the two Bundesliga players share a laugh about it afterwards. It was the right call from the Dutch referee as Chandler made contact with the ball.
33'
STUNNING DELIVERY! Gotze drifts wide to escape his marker and get in possession. He sends a wonderful cross into the area to pick out the run of Schurrle, but the Wolfsburg man is unable to direct his header past Guzan.
32'
WONDERFUL SAVE! Another scare for the Americans as Germany pick them apart with some tremendous passing! Herrmann makes another inquisitive run, this time through the centre. He lays it off for Ozil who rolls Gotze through on goal, but Guzan does well to come off his line and get enough of the shot with his trailing leg to keep it out!
30'
Possession is being dominated by the Germans, as they have all 10 outfield players in the attacking half. They refuse to relinquish the ball with the USA giving chase, though the Americans can find no way out of their own end at the moment.
28'
STAT ATTACK: Four members of the USA starting lineup - Timmy Chandler, John Brooks, Fabian Johnson, Danny Williams - are dual internationals, eligible for both Germany and the United States, of course picking the latter.
26'
Relentless pressure being applied here by the German team in attack. They pass the ball around atop the area with pinpoint accuracy, forcing the USA to chase. Finally Ozil chips a ball over the top for Herrmann, but the winger is a bit anxious to try and grab his first international goal as he fails to make good contact with a first-time attempt.
24'
The pace is picking up again as both teams remain committed to getting forward in numbers. Bradley makes an assertive run through the middle and gets to within five yards of the box, but passes up the shooting chance and as a result the attack fizzles out. He certainly can hit them and you would like to see him try his luck from that sort of area.
22'
D. Williams gets yellow.
Frustration builds among the Americans as Germany keep possession for a prolonged period in the attacking half with some lovely build-up play. Gundogan takes a pass and tries to avoid contact as Williams lunges in carelessly, but the Reading midfielder takes out his trailing leg and as a result is shown the first yellow card of the match.
20'
CRACKING EFFORT! Schurrle takes a pass on the left and as he picks his head up there's only one thing on his mind. He shifts the ball onto his right and changes pace to creep towards the top of the area before unleashing a drive just wide of the near post.
18'
STAT ATTACK: This is the seventh meeting between Germany and the United States in friendly action. The first six have produced a staggering 31 goals, averaging just over five per match.
16'
Well it's certainly been easy on the eyes through the first quarter of an hour. There has been plenty of attacking football to whet your appetite for what is to come. Germany have been clinical as usual going forward, but this make-shift back four has shown a few vulnerabilities as the USA press the issue in attack.
14'
ZARDES CAN'T FINISH! It's a battle of the two Monchengladbach players here in Koln! Johnson tries to replicate the run of Herrmann and does so bravely out on the left, covering half the pitch before delivering an exquisite ball across the face of goal. Zardes gets in front of his marker but it's at an awkward height as he is unable to direct an effort at goal!
12'
M. Götze has scored a goal for Germany! Assist by P. Herrmann.
GERMANY FINALLY HAVE THEIR GOAL! I say finally because it's been coming, but it's taken just over 10 minutes. Gotze gets the credit for his composed first-time finish and his name will make the headlines, but it was all made possible by Herrmann. The winger makes an exceptional run down the right and skips past three defenders into the area before rolling the perfect pass into the path of the Bayern Munich attacker who was never going to miss from there.
10'
INCHES OVER! Much better, that, from the Americans! Brilliant play from Aron Johannsson as he drifts onto the right flank to get in possession. He skips past his marker and picks out Michael Bradley atop the area. The Toronto FC skippr can't sort his footing, but rolls it kindly over to Mix Diskerud who lashes a shot just over the bar.
8'
HAS TO BE 1-0! A delightful introduction for Patrick Herrmann as he dances down the right before delivering a dazzling ball across to pick out Schurrle on the left. The Wolfsburg winger squares it up for Ozil in space inside the area, but his first-time effort makes for a comfortable save for Guzan. He has to be doing better from there!
6'
To clarify, Hector is loved in this venue because it is where he plays his club football with Koln, who enjoyed a wonderful first season back in the Bundesliga after earning promotion at the end of the 2013/14 campaign. The ensuing corner glances across the six-yard box, but Rudy is unable to get a touch as he flings himself into the path of the ball.
5'
Die Mannschaft continue their superb start with some truly dazzling passing in the final third. Their build-up play and ball movement is magnificent, toying with the American defence. A clever chip over the top sends fan-favourite Hector through on the left, but his cross is blocked behind by Ventura Alvarado for a corner.
3'
It's a delightful start for the Germans, who keep the USA pinned in their own end. Jonas Hector, Andre Schurrle and Ilkay Gundogan link-up as if they've been playing together for years, with the latter winning a corner. The delivery from Mesut Ozil is strong, but Shkodran Mustafi can't direct his effort on target.

Here we go then! Germany in white, USA in blue.
Good evening footy fans around the world. We have some exciting friendly action for you this evening, straight from the RheinEnergie Stadion in Koln. It’s Germany and the United States, featuring Joachim Low and Jurgen Klinsmann! I am Alex Moretto and I will be your in-game host, guiding you through the match LIVE as it happens!
Germany will have their sights set more on their European qualifying campaign, which resumes on Saturday. With all due respect to UEFA’s newcomers Gibraltar, Die Mannschaft could field their ‘C’ team and cruise to three points over the weekend, so tonight presents the real chance for fringe players to impress. Their form has been inconsistent at best since their World Cup triumph, but I hardly think it will bother them in the slightest – after all, they deserve to be cut a little slack.
The United States are riding high under Jurgen Klinsmann, pulling off yet another impressive victory on Friday – their first ever against the Oranje – in rather dramatic fashion. Under the German coach, the Stars and Stripes have developed an innate ability to compete with some of the top teams in the world, buoyed by an incredible team spirit and never-say-die attitude. With the Gold Cup just over a month away, the USA could do a great deal to help their confidence as they get set to defend their title with another victory today.
With a few obvious exceptions, Joachim Low has put out a very inexperienced and experimental squad to face the Americans today. Among those included in the starting lineup is Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Patrick Herrmann who makes his long-anticipated debut with the senior team at the age of 24.
With Manuel Neuer left out of the 23-man squad, Ron-Robert Zieler starts in goal. In front of him is a very inexperienced back line at the international level, with Shkodran Mustafi and Sebastian Rudy the most capped players at seven each. To their left is Stuttgart centre-back Antonio Rudiger, 22, and Koln left-back Jonas Hector, 25, who make their sixth and fourth caps respectively. The holding midfield duo offers plenty more class and experience, while Mario Gotze gets the start up top - although the Bayern Munich attacker will likely act more as a false nine.
Jurgen Klinsmann has rotated his squad a bit following their victory over the Netherlands on Friday, but the changes aren't extreme by any sense of the word. Brek Shea gets a break, with Fabian Johnson pushing back to defence - where he will be up against his Monchengladbach teammate. Alfredo Morales and Kyle Beckerman are also left on the bench, with Danny Williams and the experienced Mix Diskerud taking their spot in the team. Up top, Aron Johannsson is given a strike partner this time around in the form of New England Revolution forward Juan Agudelo who makes his 20th appearance for the national team.
Mario Gotze provided the Germans with a lead after just over 10 minutes, and they continued to press, unlucky to double their lead on a few occasions. It was a half they largely dominated, but the Americans found their legs late on as they grabbed an equalizer through Mix Diskerud, setting the scene for what promises to be a thrilling second half.
FULL TIME: GERMANY 1-2 USA. Bobby Wood's late heroics for a second match running help the Americans complete a European double, so to speak. Never before have the Yanks beaten the number one ranked team in the world until today, while this also marks their first ever victory over Die Mannschaft on German soil!
It's been an incredibly exciting 90 minutes of football and I can only hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. I am Alex Moretto and I would like to thank you all for joining me here today. Good bye!
