It's over now! Sneijder booked for a late challenge in midfield and that will allow Iceland to see this out!
90' +2
Shot after shot is sent on goal, the latest of which comes from Sneijder and is caught easily by Halldorsson. Just one minute remains and it's looking like Iceland will hold on now!
90'
Wonderful delivery from Blind on the left, but there's no true centre-forward out there for the Dutch to attack it! Ragnar Sigurdsson clears as the board goes up to indicate three added minutes.
88'
Another spectacular stop! Klaassen latches onto a pass atop the area and sends a low strike at goal with his weaker foot - though there was nothing weak about that effort - but Halldorsson gets across to make the save!
87'
Ó. Skúlason enters the game and replaces A. Gunnarsson.
86'
Skulason calmly puts a teasing cross behind for a corner, but the Dutch will have to wait to take it as Gunnarsson goes down injured. He's not faking, as he pulled up lame a few minutes ago and now finally seems to have succumb to the injury as he's replaced.
84'
STAT ATTACK: The Netherlands averaged a staggering 69 per cent possession from their first six games in Group A, more than any other side in the qualifying phase.
82'
Wonderful save! Netherlands are peppering the Iceland goal now as they push for an equalizer. Sneijder cuts onto his right atop the area, before driving a shot back across the keeper, but Halldorsson reacts smartly to knock it behind!
80'
B. Sævarsson gets yellow.
Q. Promes enters the game and replaces G. Wijnaldum.
Final change here from Danny Blind and it's a surprising one. Wijnaldum is the one to give way, which isn't as much of a shock, but it's Quincy Promes who is preferred over Robin van Persie! The 23-year-old Spartak Moscow forward still doesn't have an international goal to his name.
78'
A. Finnbogason enters the game and replaces J. Böðvarsson.
Gathered by Halldorsson! Great switch of play from the Dutch as the ball is spread wide for Narsingh. He sprints forward and pulls it back smartly for Wijnaldum, but the Newcastle midfielder is unable to beat the Iceland keeper with his first-time effort!
Minute
Description
76'
HE'S SKIED IT! Gudmundsson is picked out at the near stick in plenty of pace, but he rushes his effort and lashes a half-volley over the bar! Another great chance there to put the game to bed!
74'
Danny Blind has to consider making his final change now. You know Robin van Persie has a point to prove after being stripped of the captaincy, and the Dutch have been lacking that target man in the centre following Huntelaar's removal. It should be a midfield player like Klaassen or Wijnaldum who gives way, not Memphis.
72'
BRILLIANT FROM CILLESSEN! Gudmundsson drives another stinging strike at goal from range, but the Oranje keeper is able to fist away. The danger isn't cleared and Gylfi Sigurdsson unleashes a wonderful shot of his own, but Cillessen flies through the air to knock it behind! That would have ended it, surely!
70'
HORRIBLE FINAL EFFORT! That's the best bit of play we've seen in this half from the Dutch as they string five passes together inside the area. Sneijder and Blind work a one-two, with the latter picking out Klaassen, who finds Narsingh on the right. The substitute had options in the centre but instead scuffs a shot dreadfully wide from a difficult angle!
68'
STAT ATTACK: Kolbeinn Sigthorsson was teammate’s with seven members of the Netherlands’ 23-man squad during his four years with Ajax at the Amsterdam ArenA, while he was also coached by current Oranje coach – and former assistant with the club – Danny Blind.
66'
More good build up from the hosts as they begin to find one or two openings in attack. Narsingh drives in from the right and tries to sneak a shot in at the near post, but it bounces just wide with Halldorsson appearing to have it covered anyhow.
64'
E. Guðjohnsen enters the game and replaces K. Sigþórsson.
Sigthorsson is set to give way following a lovely showing up top. His contributions have been absolutely vital, but he is on a yellow and Iceland do not want to level the playing field. The vastly experienced Eidur Gudjohnsen comes on to replace him.
63'
High and wide! To their credit, the Dutch have turned it on nicely over the last five minutes and are starting to press in numbers as they try and negotiate an equalizer, but Gregory van der Wiel sees an effort from range lift well wide at the far post.
61'
Netherlands have settled down again and continue to control possession. Some good passing in attack sees Sneijder teed up from 30-yards out, but his effort at goal is stopped and held on to by Halldorsson with Memphis and Klaassen lurking.
59'
The hosts are incensed as Arnason picks up a yellow card as he takes down Memphis atop the area. The ball goes behind for a corner seconds later, and the referee awards it as opposed to the free kick which would have come in a very dangerous position.
58'
K. Árnason gets yellow.
57'
STAT ATTACK: The Netherlands are unbeaten in their previous 37 qualifying matches on home soil (W33, D4), last suffering defeat against Portugal in October 2000.
55'
OFF THE WOODWORK! What a sensational effort from Gudmundsson who meets the ball atop the area with a sensational first-time effort that curls beyond Cillessen but off the post! He's nearly put the game to bet there.
53'
Well what a shocking night this has turned out to be! It's a nightmare for Danny Blind in his first game in charge, though there's little he could have done to change things. First the injury to Robben, then the red card to Martins Indi and now the penalty decision - and his team are in a dangerous spot in Group A!
51'
Penalty goal scored by G. Sigurðsson for Iceland!
ICELAND HAVE A FOOT INTO THE 2016 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS! Cillessen gets a hand to the penalty from Gylfi Sigurdsson, but can't keep it out and the Swansea midfielder has his third goal in two games against the Netherlands, as well as five in this qualifying phase!
50'
G. van der Wiel gets yellow.
PENALTY TO ICELAND! Terrific header down from Sigthorsson to tee up Bjarnason. The winger breaks into the area and is taken out by van der Wiel, with the referee immediately pointing to the spot! It's a bit of a harsh call, but there wasn't much need for the tackle either by the right-back.
48'
Better start from Iceland who seem to have altered their approach coming out of the break. Sneijder is playing out wide for the Dutch out on the left and his defensive frailties are being exposed at the moment. Daley Blind will be in for a heavy workload should the fill-in captain continue playing out on the flank.
46'
Here we go again! Can the Netherlands overcome adversity to claim all three points or will Iceland make the most of their man advantage?
45'
There will be two minutes added on at the end of this first half. Despite the sending off, it's the Netherlands who have dominated possession over the last 10 minutes.
43'
The Dutch are now settling into what looks like a 4-3-2. The midfield trio remains the same from the start, while Narsingh and Depay drift into more central positions as they act as the two strikers up top.
41'
J. Bruma enters the game and replaces K. Huntelaar.
Danny Blind is forced into making his second first-half substitution as a result of the sending off! Jeffrey Bruma comes in to fill the now-vacant spot at centre-half, with Huntelaar giving way! It's a bit of a surprising change which has done nothing to please these home fans.
39'
STAT ATTACK: The Netherlands are perfect in five meetings with Iceland all-time on home soil (W5), outscoring them 17-1 over that span.
37'
Unconvincing! Memphis delivers a strike from 25-yards out and gets wonderful dip and swerve to it. Halldorsson just manages to direct it away from goal, but it certainly looked to confuse him as it arrived on target.
35'
Danny Blind wants to keep his wide players on the pitch, and has thus moved to five at the back. Klaassen - who usually plays in the number 10 role for Ajax - has moved to centre-half at the moment between Daley Blind and de Vrij!
33'
K. Sigþórsson gets yellow.
B. Martins Indi goes off after a red card!
NETHERLANDS DOWN TO 10-MEN! From bad to worse for the new coach as he sees Bruno Martins Indi sent off for a senseless reaction following a coming together with Sigthorsson. He won the free kick for his team, but then lashes out, swinging his arm into the face of the striker after the whistle. It's a harsh decision, but he can't be giving the referee a reason to show red, either!
31'
L. Narsingh enters the game and replaces A. Robben.
30'
The ball is knocked out of play by the Dutch as they look to make their change and get back to full strength. Luciano Narsingh is the one to come on - he also offers plenty of pace on the flank. The substitute carries the armband across to Sneijder, who will takeover as captain for the rest of the match.
28'
Close from the Hunter! Delicious ball whipped in behind the Iceland defence by Memphis, but Huntelaar is unable to get the decisive touch as he slides in to try and meet it, while it also bounces past the run of Wijnaldum at the far post.
26'
Well this has to be a worry for Danny Blind! Play is forced to come to a halt as Robben pulls up lame. He's in significant pain and tries to be pleading his case to the medical staff to let him continue, but the trainer signals to the coach for a change - this would be a big blow for the Dutch.
24'
STAT ATTACK: Iceland have won five of their six matches in Group A thus far, keeping four clean sheets in the process. They kept just two in their 10 qualifying matches for the 2014 World Cup.
22'
As the Netherlands begin to settle in they're seeing a lot more of the ball in the attacking half. Iceland get bodies back in numbers, however, and they're so sharp as they look to threaten on the counter. Memphis is dispossessed and Huntelaar is called for a foul seconds later as he sacrifices himself to stop a quick break.
20'
Stefan de Vrij is lucky to escape without a booking as he clatters into the back of Sigthorsson after the ball had left. It's his second hard foul inside the first 20 minutes, but again the referee lets him go with a warning. Good work from the Nantes striker to win the ball in the air there.
18'
Robben goes down rather theatrically atop the area, but he wins the free kick after clattering into Gunnarsson right at the edge of the area. It is the skipper who takes, but it deflects off the back of Huntelaar and just inches wide of the far post!
17'
Brilliant link-up atop the area between Robben and Huntelaar, sparked by the movement of the Bayern winger. He takes the return pass and lays it off for Sneijder before winning a foul. The Galatasaray midfielder wrongfully opts to take the advantage, however, dribbling a tame shot wide of the near post when Memphis was standing in acres of space to his left.
15'
The hosts have offered very little going forward in the opening stages of the match, with only Robben looking capable in possession. They just need to settle in a bit, but the desire and pressing from Iceland in midfield shows they may want it a bit more at the moment.
13'
STAT ATTACK: The last time Netherlands failed to qualify for the European Championships was in 1984, which is also the last occasion France hosted the tournament.
11'
Jasper Cillessen contributes the way he knows best, charging off his line to collect consecutive dangerous crosses played in from the left flank. The keeper is always confident in his area and it is always vital in helping his defenders.
9'
The first effort on target comes from who else but the Dutch skipper. Robben, as he always does, cuts in from the right onto his dangerous left foot, but his final effort at goal is caught easily by Hannes Halldorsson.
7'
HAD TO BE THE OPENER! Absolutely wonderful build-up play from the visitors! Gylfi Sigurdsson and Ari Skulason link-up well atop the area and the left-back sends a perfect cross in for Gudmundsson at the far post. He shows great vision to volley it first-time across the face of goal for Jon Bodvarsson, but he fails to turn it into the gaping goal!
5'
Arjen Robben is of course the real threat for the Oranje and he gets the crowd going again with a strong run down the right to win a corner. Wesley Sneijder's delivery is superb, but a good header from Ragnar Sigurdsson sees away the threat.
3'
Encouraging stuff from the visitors who aren't showing any signs of backing down. They win the ball in midfield through Aron Gunnarsson the skipper, who sprays it wide for Johann Berg Gudmundsson out wide. The winger sends an inviting ball in, but the Dutch defend their lines well.

The Danny Blind era is underway in the Netherlands!
Good evening footy fans around the world, and welcome to another lovely evening of Euro Cup qualification! The Amsterdam ArenA is our venue tonight as the Netherlands look to battle their way back into the automatic qualification spots when they take on surprise front-runners Iceland who are on the brink of qualifying for their first major international competition. I am Alex Moretto and I will be your in-game host, guiding you through the match LIVE as it happens!
The Netherlands are hoping to turn a new leaf in what has been a largely underwhelming qualifying campaign, following the takeover of Danny Blind as head coach. Guus Hiddink stepped down earlier than anticipated, but with the Oranje failing to find their groove, the timing suited both parties well. The ex-Ajax and Netherlands defender now faces the daunting task of guiding the 2014 World Cup runners-up into a top two finish in Group A, where they will likely need to pick up a minimum of nine points from their final four matches.
Iceland are on the brink of history. They’ve never been to the European Championship in their history, nor the World Cup, and are just a couple of good results away from becoming the smallest nation – with a population of under 330,000 – of qualifying for the tournament. The squad coached by Lars Lagerback and Heimir Hallgrimsson should conceivably finish in the top two with six points in their final four matches, and with home games still to play against Group A’s bottom-dwellers Kazakhstan and Latvia, they’re inching ever-so-close to achieving the unimaginable.

Arjen Robben takes on his new role as captain following the appointment by his new coach Danny Blind. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar gets the nod up top ahead of Robin van Persie, and he will be supported by the new captain as well as Manchester United forward Memphis Depay. Ajax prodigy Davy Klaassen is rewarded for his recent form with a start in midfield, earning just his third international cap. He will be grouped in with the experienced Wesley Sneijder as well as Newcastle midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum. There are few surprises in defence, though Bruno Martins Indi is preferred to Ajax teen Jairo Riedewald at centre-half.
Co-coaches Lars Lagerback and Heimir Hallgrimsson have made just one change to the team which beat Czech Republic on the last matchday, preferring the pace of Viking winger Jon Bodvarsson over the experienced Emil Hallfredsson. Johan Berg Gudmundsson and Kolbeinn Sigthorsson, part of a large Icelandic contingent of ex-Eredevisie players in the team, lead the lines up top, flanked by the creativity and technical ability of Swansea's Gylfi Sigurdsson.
There's a sensational atmosphere inside the Amsterdam ArenA ahead of this massive Group A clash. Iceland have brought 3,000 fans with them for the match - nearly one per cent of their population - while the Oranje supporters are boisterous as usual.
HALF TIME: NETHERLANDS 0-0 ICELAND. Baptism by fire for debut coach Danny Blind who saw Arjen Robben and Bruno Martins Indi give way in the first half to an injury and red card. The visitors have been given a massive chance to all but secure their place in next summer's tournament, while the Oranje have put themselves into quite the precarious position.
FULL TIME: NETHERLANDS 0-1 ICELAND. Lars Lagerback's side all but clinch their place in the European Championships as they spoil Danny Blind's coaching debut on a historic night in Amsterdam!
Iceland move eight points clear of the Netherlands in Group A with three games remaining, and only a miracle can stop them from qualifying now!
I am Alex Moretto and I would like to thank you all for joining me here today. Good bye!
