A mistake from Bruma carelessly awards Wales a cheap corner, and they send everyone forward. The delivery comes in, but Collins gets his elbow up needlessly into the back of the head of a defender, and play is brought to a halt. Good spot by the referee.
90' +1
G. Wijnaldum enters the game and replaces Q. Promes.
90'
Wijnaldum comes on for the three minutes of stoppage time, replacing Promes. This serves as nothing more than a way to see some seconds off the clock.
89'
Netherlands pressing for a fourth which would assuredly put and end to the match, but Wales are holding firm for the time being. The Dutch revival had to start today, as they look towards 2018, and this victory will go a long way in restoring confidence amongst the side and also securing Danny Blind's job in charge of the national team.
87'
R. Bazoer enters the game and replaces J. Clasie.
Ajax teenager Riechedly Bazoer makes his Netherlands debut! The highly-touted midfielder has made himself a regular with de Godenzonen in the Eredivisie and this international debut has been eagerly anticipated by Dutch supporters and pundits alike.
85'
The Dutch appear calm and composed in defence as they look to see this lead out once and for all. It is the third time tonight they have been in front, but the previous two had evaporated. This one comes late through Robben and they appear determined to leave victorious.
83'
STAT ATTACK: The most recent meeting between the two nations came in a June friendly in advance of the 2014 World Cup, which the Dutch won 2-0 with Arjen Robben registering a goal and an assist.
82'
J. Bruma gets yellow.
81'
A. Robben has scored a goal for Netherlands! Assist by B. Dost.
NO MISSING THIS TIME! ROBBEN RESTORES THEIR LEAD! He is determined to have the last word in this match! It's an exceptional ball from Dost to play Robben clean through behind the defence and he redeems himself, grabbing his second goal of the evening!
Minute
Description
78'
SHOULD BE THREE! You just can't count this Dutch side out, because they can produce a goal so quickly. Clasie wins the ball in midfield and Janmaat is played through on the right. His cross finds its way through to Robben, but the forward sends his half-volley just an inch wide at the near post! That was fairly close to being considered a sitter - he never misses from there!
76'
The tide is starting to shift again as these Welsh players and fans alike grow in belief. Possession has evened out a bit over the last few minutes, but tempo has slowed drastically as a result of the substitutions.
74'
O. Williams enters the game and replaces W. Hennessey.
Another debutante for Wales as Owain Fon Williams, who has been in and around the team for so many years now, sees patience pay off as he comes on for his first appearance at 28-years-old. The keeper plays his club football in Scotland for Inverness. A goalkeeping change is made at the other end as well with Maarten Stekelenburg on for Cillessen.
72'
STAT ATTACK: Wales are unbeaten in their last eight home matches across all competitions (W5, D3). They kept five clean sheets over that span and never conceded more than a single goal.
70'
E. Huws has scored a goal for Wales! Assist by J. Allen.
WALES LEVEL THROUGH HUWS! Superb impact from the substitute as he gets on the end of Allen's cross and sends a blistering header in at the far post, leaving Cillessen with no chance! It is his first international goal and one he will remember for the rest of his life!
68'
Wales are starting to get their footing yet again, growing in stature as the Dutch pressure fades. Possession remains elusive for Coleman's side, but they have done better to keep the Netherlands out. They need to start taking a few more chances and committing men forward on the counter.
66'
A. Henley enters the game and replaces C. Gunter.
Wholesale changes continue for the hosts, and the latest double-switch brings with it some new faces! American-born, Blackburn defender Adam Henley is handed his first international cap, while Paul Dummett comes on for his second. These games are crucial for players like this who are trying to earn their place on next summer's tournament squad.
65'
P. Dummett enters the game and replaces N. Taylor.
64'
NEARLY LEVEL! Terrific play down the right from Lawrence who sprints past Blind, keeps the ball in play at the end-line and sends a teasing delivery into the area. Veltman can only get a slight touch, but it's enough to just divert it away from George Williams who can only knock it wide of the post as he comes sliding in to try and meet it!
62'
STAT ATTACK: Netherlands have lost four of their last six matches away from home across all competitions (W2), while being held scoreless three times over that span.
60'
George Williams is making his first appearance on a football pitch since March, having been sidelined with a gruesome ACL injury. He's on here in place on Jonathan Williams, making his sixth cap.
59'
G. Williams enters the game and replaces J. Williams.
58'
Wales are in desperate need of some stability. They've been unable to get on the ball and keep it for more than a few second, with the Dutch parking themselves firmly in the attacking half.
56'
E. Huws enters the game and replaces J. Ledley.
A change now for the Welsh as Emyr Huws comes on in place of goal scorer Joe Ledley. The hosts are fading yet again and they are in desperate need of a spark in midfield.
55'
A. Robben has scored a goal for Netherlands!
VINTAGE ROBBEN AND THE NETHERLANDS ARE BACK IN FRONT! How many times have we seen this over the years? He makes a great run down the right flank and cuts in on his left, with Davies unable to keep him to the outside. From his ever-dangerous left, Robben curls a shot past Hennessey at the far post - he's leading the Dutch revival!
53'
Great pace from the Dutch to start this second half. They are responding positively after conceding at the very end of the first half. They feel they should still be ahead and they are doing everything they can to try and restore their lead.
51'
STAT ATTACK: The largest margin of victory in a match between the Netherlands and Wales was a 7-1 Oranje triumph in a 1996 World Cup qualifier, with Dennis Bergkamp netting a hat-trick at the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven.
49'
HENNESSEY AT IT AGAIN! Robben played through on goal by Sneijder, a move the Dutch have seen replayed time and time again over the years. The Bayern forward is through in the area and gets it onto his left, but somehow Hennessey is able to get a hand to the final effort! Incredible!
47'
Changes for each team at the break. Joel Veltman replaces Virgil van Dijk, who appeared to pick up a knock towards the latter stages of the first half, while James Collins comes on for Ashley Williams for the hosts.
46'
J. Collins enters the game and replaces A. Williams.
J. Veltman enters the game and replaces V. van Dijk.
Here we go again!
45' +3
J. Ledley has scored a goal for Wales!
Penalty saved by J. Cillessen!
LEVEL THROUGH LEDLEY! Allen's penalty is turned aside by Cillessen who guesses right and gets a strong hand to it, but the Crystal Palace midfielder wins the race to the rebound and scores his first international goal in five years!
45' +2
T. Kongolo gets yellow.
PENALTY TO WALES! What a shocking turn of events at the end of this half, which comes well after the allotted minute of stoppage time. Following a corner, the ball strikes the arm of Kongolo and the referee points to the spot!
45'
Just one minute to be added on at the end of this half.
44'
EXQUISITE PLAY! Tremendous passing from the Dutch who look more like the team who finished third at Brazil 2014 than the ones who failed to qualify for France 2016. Robben holds the ball up very well and picks out the run of Sneijder, who sends a nifty pass across for Promes, but the forward sees his stinging drive knocked aside by Hennessey.
42'
Jonathan Williams needs to offer more of a link between defence and attack. He hasn't made himself enough of an option in possession and when he does get the ball, the quality just hasn't been there. He's an influential player still trying to find his legging out on the pitch.
40'
STAT ATTACK: Wales had conceded just twice in their last seven internationals before tonight, keeping six clean sheets. Both of those goals came in a 2-0 defeat in Bosnia.
38'
The Netherlands are back to dictating possession and they seem to have hit their stride. They're finding it easier to pick out openings and navigate space in attack, helped on by their impressive movement off the ball. Wales appear to be in over their heads at the moment.
36'
TERRIFIC GOALKEEPING! A wonderful ball is played through for Robben who finds himself behind the defence as he escapes the marking of Davies. Hennessey reacts so quickly, however, to sprint off his line and meet the ball 25-yards off his line with a clearance.
34'
Wales are on the ropes at the moment. Davies caught out and Dost nearly bags a second if not for the important cover from Ashley Williams. The skipper has to settle things down in defence and restore order, or this match could really get away from them.
32'
B. Dost has scored a goal for Netherlands! Assist by D. Janmaat.
NETHERLANDS HAVE THEIR BREAKTHROUGH! Wales undone in defence by the terrific passing of the Dutch! Robben, Promes and Janmaat are all involved in the buildup, but in the end it is the splendid cross from the Newcastle defender which presents Dost with a free header atop the six-yard box, and he makes no mistake in picking up a first international goal!
29'
STAT ATTACK: Netherlands have lost three of their last four friendlies (Italy, Mexico, USA) for the first time since January 1995 to April 1996 (France, Portugal, Germany).
27'
Decent effort! Sloppy in midfield from Allen who concedes possession cheaply and allows the Dutch to break quickly. An immediate pass is played forward towards Robben and he steps around Ashley Williams before trying to pick out the top corner, but his curling effort lifts just over the bar.
25'
Great determination from Ledley in midfield to win the ball and fend off a challenge before starting a break. In the end it's all a bit too sloppy from Jonathan Williams, however, as the chance comes to nothing. Wales have been lacking quality in the final third, but everything else has been satisfactory up to this point.
23'
The tempo is picking up as the match begins to jolt to life. Both sides are showing greater determination going forward, but Wales are growing in confidence with each passing minute. They are defending stoutly and it has allowed them to grow into the game in a big way.
21'
FIRST CHANCE FOR WALES! Allen bursts through the heart of midfield with real purpose and spots Lawrence. The Blackburn forward takes it with a delightful first touch and cuts inside his marker, but can't get any pace behind his shot to test Cillessen!
19'
STAT ATTACK: Wales have played six internationals since the start of 2015 and just two players have scored goals for them in those matches – Gareth Bale (five) and Aaron Ramsey (two). No player on their current 23-man squad has scored an international goal this calendar year.
17'
Robben appears a real nuisance already, full of energy and always looking to get on the ball. He interchanges flanks and holds the ball up before spotting Kongolo, who sends an inviting cross in for Dost, but the striker sends his header straight at the keeper.
15'
Ledley and Allen have been sharp in midfield through the first quarter of an hour. They're negating the impact of Sneijder up to this point, but the Dutch are keeping possession quite well still as they come closer to testing Hennessey.
13'
Both defensive units have been up to the task when called upon. The two outfits have lined up with five each at the back and it has made it quite difficult on the attacking players to navigate a route through on goal. Danny Blind said he was going to focus on defence tonight, while Wales have been hard to break down throughout qualifying.
11'
This has been a very encouraging start for the Netherlands and Danny Blind. They have defended stoutly when they need and are showing greater intent in possession than they did for the greater part of their last four European qualifiers. A goal would go a long way in buoying their spirits.
9'
The Dutch boast plenty of pace in attack through the likes of Promes and Robben. The duo find space between the Welsh midfield and defence, which the Spartak Moscow forward does well to exploit before playing the latter through. Robben takes on Chester, but is forced to settle for a corner.
7'
STAT ATTACK: The Netherlands have won all seven of their head-to-head meetings against Wales, outscoring them 21-3. It is the worst record Wales have against any team which they have played at least seven times.
5'
Wales manage their first attack through Lawrence, who makes an exceptional turn to sprint forward into the final third. He links up with Taylor, but Kongolo is wise to it and the Feyenoord defender is able to sniff out the danger. Still, that should help settle the nerves of the home side.
3'
The Dutch are bossing possession in the early stages with Wales yet to have a touch of the ball. Don't be fooled by their poor qualifying campaign, as the Netherlands played the majority of it without prolific forward Arjen Robben - who defied Bayern's wishes in joining the national side for this friendly.

Underway in Cardiff!
Good evening footy fans around the world! We have some exciting friendly action for you this evening, straight from the Cardiff City Stadium. Tonight Wales begin their preparations for next summer’s European Championships when they play host to a Netherlands team hoping to pick up the pieces following a disastrous qualifying campaign. I am Alex Moretto and I will be your in-game host, guiding you through the match LIVE as it happens!
Wales and Chris Coleman have to feel like world beaters, fresh off qualifying for just their second major tournament in the nation’s history, since the 1958 World Cup. It is integral for them to keep stringing together results and keep the momentum going through to next summer’s European Championships, but they are in tough tonight despite the recent poor form of their opposition as they’re missing a few key members of the squad. Chris Coleman is not making excuses, however, claiming this is the chance for some of the younger members to prove their worth and battle for their spot on the 23-man squad they will take with them to France.
Netherlands have a very different approach to the match, having failed to qualify for the 2016 European Championship. Under the relatively new tutelage of Danny Blind, the Oranje have to take a step back and evaluate the squad from top to bottom. The coach, despite calls for his head, is tasked with guiding the Dutch through this dark period and refreshing their approach as they begin preparing for Russia 2018. There are some difficult decisions to come in what can only be described as a transition period with a large gap between the aging members of the golden generation and the young, Eredivisie talent.
CONFIRMED TEAM NEWS:
SUBS: Vaughan, O. Williams, Dummett, Church, Henley, Edwards, Ward, Huws, Collins, Bradshaw, G. Williams, MacDonald.
SUBS: Elia, Pieters, Wijnaldum, Veltman, Zoet, Huntelaar, Tete, L. De Jong, Memphis, Stekelenburg, Vejinovic, Bazoer.
WALES (5-4-1): Hennessey; Gunter, A. Williams, Chester, Davies, Taylor; Allen, King, J. Williams, Ledley; Lawrence
Of course no Aaron Ramsey (hamstring) and Gareth Bale (calf) for Wales tonight, while Sam Vokes and Hal Robson-Kanu are also out. Chris Coleman has opted to play with five at the back, while he hands Blackburn forward Tom Lawrence his first international start (second appearance) due to the long list of absentees. There are still a lot of familiar faces in the starting lineup, but we should see some of the more inexperenced members of the squad brought on in the second half.
The look-ahead to 2018 is underway for the Dutch and it begins without their all-time leading scorer Robin van Persie who has been dropped from the team altogether. Danny Blind is also without Ajax trio Davy Klaassen, Anwar El Ghazi and Jairo Riedewald through injury. He hands Bas Dost his first Netherlands start up top, alongside Quincy Promes, with Arjen Robben figuring to slot in just behind the attacking duo. Wesley Sneijder and Jordy Clasie get the call in midfield, with Georginio Wijnaldum on the bench despite his recent great form for the national team. Virgil van Dijk and Terence Kongolo make just their third appearances in defence.
HALF TIME: WALES 1-1 NETHERLANDS. Joe Ledley's late leveler cancels out Bas Dost's first goal in an Oranje shirt as the teams head into the break knotted up at one. The hosts will consider themselves lucky to be level at the break with the Dutch dictating possession and creating the bulk of the opportunities. Still everything to play for in the second half!
WALES 2-3 NETHERLANDS. Arjen Robben nets a brace in his return to the Oranje side as they defeat Chris Coleman's Euro-bound side in Cardiff. The Bayern forward proved unstoppable on the evening, while the absentees of Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey proved too much for Wales to overcome.
I am Alex Moretto and I would like to thank you all for joining me here today. Good bye!
