The winners of this tie will of course make it into the quarter-final draw which takes place on Friday. Manchester City actually made it to to the last four of the competition last season under Manuel Pellegrini, but were narrowly knocked out by Real Madrid after a tight 1-0 aggregate scoreline over both legs. Monaco made it to the final back in 2004, but came undone against FC Porto, then managed by Jose Mourinho.

There were arguably three stars of the show in the first leg. Sergio Aguero and Radamel Falcao both scored a brace, with the latter's second particularly glorious, but the other player who shone was 18-year-old Kylian Mbappe of Monaco, who got on the scoresheet himself with a cracking goal and gave the City defence a torrid time with his speed and movement.
Half-time. Goals were expected in this clash, and we have two so far, both going to Monaco as the home side go into the break with a 2-0 lead over Manchester City. Five-five on aggregate currently, with the French side set to progress on away goals, but the goalscoring isn't finished yet surely?
