Diego Souza has scored a goal for Brazil! Assist by Willian.
GOAL! The final touch of the ball results in the final goal of the game! A beautifully placed corner swings into the middle of the box and finds Souza, who rises high and beats Langerak with an unstoppable bullet header.
That was a lovely cross by Willian to pick out Souza, but the Australia defence momentarily fell asleep and should have done more to try and deal with the striker's threat.
90' +2
Brazil almost make it 4-0 with an own-goal! After dealing with the danger, they counter quickly through Willian over on the left wing. He tees up Taison, who then tries to find the Chelsea man once again, but Hrustic sticks out a foot to cut out the danger. He accidentally slams the ball straight at Lagerak, however, and the goalkeeper does well to keep it from finding the back of the net.

And the third results in Tom Rogic replacing Troisi, who looked impressive throughout the game.

75'
Taison has scored a goal for Brazil! Assist by Paulinho.
GOAL! Game over! Brazil move the ball around beautifully on the edge of the penalty area before Paulinho breaks forward and tees up Taison, who meets the ball 10 yards away from goal before slotting a great shot under Langerak.

66'
Kruse, who has looked decent over on the right flank this half, gets himself into a good position deep down the wing and quickly whips a low cross into the penalty area, but it can't pick out a team-mate and is well cut out by Luiz.
64'
Australia immediately try to push forward from the restart as they try to get back into the game, but they're unable to find their way through a sea of blue shirts and Brazil are able to storm forward once again.
62'
Thiago Silva has scored a goal for Brazil! Assist by Rodrigo Caio.
Caio did well to keep the ball in play when it looked as if it was going to be deflected behind for another corner, but Australia really should have done better to deal with the danger.
GOAL! It's 2-0! The resulting corner is a dangerous one and pinballs around the Australia penalty area. One header hits the crossbar before Caio makes contact over at the far post, where he knocks it back to Silva, who is then finally able to bundle the ball into the back of the net from a few yards out.

The second is Jamie MacLaren, who takes the place of Cahill.
54'
Coutinho gets himself into a good position just outside of the Australia penalty area on the right flank and quickly fires a low cross into the box, but it flies just behind Paulinho and fails to result in a chance on goal for the Guangzhou Evergrande midfielder.
52'
Almost a chance for Troisi! Leckie picks up the ball on the halfway line and immediately charges down the right wing on a great run. He then tees up Kruse, who whips a lovely cross into the penalty area and towards Troisi. He sticks out his head and almost makes contact with the ball, but it's knocked away by Caio at the vital moment.
51'
A lofted pass is thumped up towards the Australia penalty area and finds Costa. The attacking midfielder rises high and does well to knock the ball down to Souza, whose thumping, first-time shot is well blocked by Sainsbury to stop it from troubling Langerak.

46'
We're underway once again!

Australia try to embark on one last attack before the half-time break, but Troisi can't get the better of Luiz on the halfway line and the referee blows his whistle to bring an end to the first period.
45'
The fourth official has indicated that there will be just one minute of added time.
44'
Costa flies into the Australia half of the pitch after the home side lose the ball in an advanced position, but he's fouled after passing the halfway line and has to settle for a free-kick. With only a minute left to play, Brazil decide to send it short before patiently holding onto the ball.
42'
After dealing with the danger, Brazil immediately counter-attack at the other end of the pitch. Rafinha sprints into the right-hand side of the penalty area and then unleashes a thumping cross-cum-shot, but Langerak is there to push it away from danger with a strong save.
41'
Brazil fall asleep on the ball inside their own half of the pitch and gift possession to Troisi over on the left wing. He quickly whips a bouncing cross into the box that looks set to find Kruse, but just as he's about to get a head on the ball, it's thumped away by Caio.
40'
Troisi, who has arguably been Australia's most impressive player so far, does well to carve out a pocket of space for himself before shooting from 25 yards out. He doesn't strike the ball well enough though, and his effort ends up rolling well wide of its intended target.
38'
Sandro showcases wonderful skill as he darts down the left wing and into the Australia penalty area, but he can't get the better of Mathew Leckie, who does well to shepherd the ball out for a goal-kick.

34'
Huge chance for Paulinho! Coutinho and Sandro link up brilliantly down the left flank before the latter fires a wonderful cross into the Australia box. It finds Souza, who immediately flicks the ball back to Paulinho, but the midfielder can't get a decent shot away and seems to knee an effort well wide of the goal. He really shoudl have done better with that!
32'
An attempted Brazil attack breaks down and allows Australia to counter quickly. Troisi steams forward and then tries to set up Behich with a side-footed through-ball, but it's cut out by Rafinha before it can find the wing-back.
30'
Brazil are starting to cause plenty of problems for Australia as they continue pushing forward. Once again, Souza impresses in an advanced position before unleashing a shot, but his effort from 25 yards out fails to hit the target and bounces comfortably wide.
29'
Souza scores again, but this time it's ruled out! The striker makes a lovely run into the box and latches on to the ball in a pocket of space, but as soon as he lifts a brilliant strike over Langerak and into the back of the net, the linesman's flag is raised for offside.
28'
Philippe Coutinho twists and turns as he dances his way towards the Australia penalty area. He gets himself into a good position and then pokes a pass up to Souza, who tries to spin on the edge of the box but is put under pressure and can't get the better of a sea of yellow shirts.
26'
Rafinha gets himself into a great position deep down the right wing before swinging a dangerous cross into the Australia box. It looks set to find the head of Souza, but Trent Sainsbury is there to make sure it doesn't.
24'
And now Costa goes close! Sloppy play by Australia allows Souza to cut inside from the right flank and fizz a pass across the face of goal, but it bounces off the knee of Costa and out to the opposite wing.
23'
Almost a chance for Giuliano to make it 2-0! Souza and Giuliano almost link up once again after a great run forward from the Zenit St. Petersburg midfielder, but he's closed down at the vital moment and can't get a shot away from inside the box.
21'
Rafinha cuts inside from the right wing and tries to play a one-two with Souza, but he's cynically fouled by Behich and has to settle for a free-kick. It's sent short and worked over to Costa, who initially loses the ball before being caught on the ankle by Degenek, leaving him in serious discomfort.
19'
Robbie Kruse battles his way down the right flank before having to settle for a throw-in. It's sent back to the forward, who then immediately goes down on the edge of the penalty area under a tackle from Alex Sandro, but the referee isn't at all interested in his protests and tells him to get back to his feet.
17'
Another slightly rash challenge from a Brazil player, this time Thiago Silva, results in a free-kick for Australia. The home side can't take advantage of it, however, as Troisi's pass up to the box is underhit and easily cut out.
15'
Cahill goes close to equalising! The resulting corner is sent short before a swinging cross picks out Cahill. He immediately unleashes a thumping strike, but it sails a few yards over the top of the crossbar and behind for a goal-kick.
14'
Nervy moments at the back for Brazil! Troisi sends a beautiful pass down the left flank and into the path of Aziz Behich, who is in acres of space. His low cross into the penalty area should be easily dealt with by Diego Alves, but Rodrigo Caio dives in the way and pokes the ball just past the near post.
12'
Rafinha is caught sleeping on the ball by Cahill and Australia try to counter quickly, but Massimo Luongo's pass up towards Troisi is overhit and can't find the Melbourne Victory man on the edge of the Brazil box.
11'
David Luiz tangles with Cahill, resulting in another free-kick for the hosts in a dangerous area. Troisi's cross is a good one and finds Cahill once again, but the striker is quickly closed down and can't get a shot away under pressure.
9'
Once again, Brazil patiently knock the ball around as they embark on a lengthy spell of possession, but they can't make it count and a poor pass eventually results in an Australia throw-in.
7'
Brazil try to play their way out of their own half of the pitch but are caught in possession by Australia, who are pressing well. It initially looks as if Troisi has won a throw-in for the home side in a promising position, but the decision ends up going the other way.
5'
Almost a huge chance for Tim Cahill! Alex Sandro commits a foul over on the right wing and presents Australia with a good chance to whip the ball into the box. James Troisi's cross into the penalty area is a great one and picks out Wright, whose glancing header then finds Cahill. The striker is in an offside position, however, and the linesman's flag is raised as soon as he knocks the ball comfortably wide of the goal.
3'
Douglas Costa manages to get a few good touches on the ball as he patiently makes his way down the left flank, but he's unable to get the better of Milos Degenek and loses out to the defender near to the byline.
1'
Diego Souza has scored a goal for Brazil! Assist by Giuliano.
We're off! Australia get us underway, attacking from right to left.
That was good play by Giuliano to tee up Souza with a clever pass into the penalty area, but Wright really should have done better. He wasn't put under a great deal of pressure and gifted the ball straight to Giuliano in a horrible part of the pitch.
GOAL! What a start for Brazil! Bailey Wright immediately concedes possession with a poor attempted pass. Giuliano picks up the ball and quickly sets up Diego Souza, who fires a thumping low shot under Mitch Langerak and into the back of the net.
Hello and welcome to our live text commentary of today’s international friendly between Australia and Brazil at the MCG.
Fresh from a World Cup 2018 qualification victory against Saudi Arabia on Thursday, today sees Australia face their final test before heading out to Russia for this year’s Confederations Cup. The Socceroos face tough clashes against Germany, Cameroon and Chile during the group stage, so the visit of Brazil has handed them a great chance to flex their muscles against a top-quality opponent.
The win against Saudi Arabia was a hard-fought and vital one, as it’s moved them equal on points with the Green Falcons in third place. Despite managing to beat both Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in their last two games, it’s been a disappointing 10 months or so for Australia, who were held to frustrating draws against Thailand and Iraq in November and March, respectively.
In stark contrast to their opponents, Brazil have been flying high in their World Cup qualification group and currently sit nine points clear of nearest challengers Colombia. A friendly game on this very ground against Argentina four days ago ended in the Selecao’s first defeat since last June, but they’ll be confident about returning to winning ways here today.
Clashes between these two sides have tended to be one-way affairs in recent years, with Brazil comfortably thrashing their opponents 6-0 on home soil when they last met in 2013. Australia have got a win under their belts, however, as they picked up an historic 1-0 victory in the third-place final at the 2001 Confederations Cup. They also managed to hold the Selecao to a goalless draw back in 1997, with both of the other two games ending in wins for Brazil.
There’s just over 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up today…
Australia substitutes: Ryan, Dylan McGowan, Juric, Maclaren, Mooy, Hrustic, Vukovic, Ryan McGowan, Irvine, Rogic.
Australia XI (3-2-4-1): Langerak; Degenek, Sainsbury, Wright; Luongo, Milligan; Leckie, Kruse, Troisi, Behich; Cahill.
Brazil substitutes: Weverton, Fagner, Gil, Fernandinho, Filipe Luis, Renato Augusto, Ederson Moraes, Jemerson, Taison, Willian, Rodriguinho.
Brazil XI (4-3-3): Diego Alves; Rafinha, Thiago Silva, Caio, Alex Sandro; Paulinho, David Luiz, Coutinho; Giuliano, Souza, Costa.
Angelos Postecoglou has decided to make eight changes to the Australia side that started the win against Saudi Arabia, with Mitch Langerak, Bailey Wright, Massimo Luongo, Mark Milligan, Robbie Kruse, James Troisi, Aziz Behich and Tim Cahill coming into the starting line-up to replace Matthew Ryan, Ryan McGowan, Aaron Mooy, Mile Jedinak, Tom Rogic, Jackson Irvine, Brad Smith and Tomi Juric, respectively.
Meanwhile, Brazil boss Tite has also made eight alterations to the team that featured in their last outing, with Weverton, Fagner, Gil, Filipe Luis, Fernandinho, Renato Augusto, Willian and Gabriel Jesus making way for Diego Alves, Rafinha, Rodrigo Caio, Alex Sandro, David Luiz, Giuliano, Diego Souza and Douglas Costa.
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off.
HALF-TIME: AUSTRALIA 0-1 BRAZIL
Australia suffered a terrible start to the game when they went behind after only 10 seconds, but they've done well to recover since then, despite suffering a few nervy moments during the middle of the half. Brazil have been the better of the two sides but haven't yet managed to double their advantage, despite both Souza and Paulinho being presented with good chances on goal.
The two teams are making their way back out on to the pitch ahead of the start of the second half. Neither side have made any substitutions during the half-time break.
FULL-TIME: AUSTRALIA 0-4 BRAZIL
It was always going to be a tough night for Australia, who fell behind after only 10 seconds and struggled to get back into the game from then onwards. They enjoyed a few decent spells of possession midway through the first half and at the start of the second, but, overall, Brazil were comfortably in control and leave with a well-deserved 4-0 victory.
Australia will now head out to Russia to take part in this year's Confederations Cup, whilst Brazil, who were unable to qualify for the competition for the first time since 1995, are next in action in a World Cup qualifier against Ecuador in August.
