There will be two minutes added on at the end of this match, but they don't appear to be anything more than a formality at this point.
88'
Costa Rica can't muster even a whimper as the clock ticks down on their Gold Cup campaign. Possession remains firmly with the US, as the Ticos struggle to break across the halfway line when they do win it back. This has been an unbelivably professional display from the Americans in the last 20 minutes of this match.
86'
STAT: With a 17-1-5 record in the Gold Cup, Bruce Arena is the winningest head coach all-time in the competition, on the verge of his 18th here tonight.
85'
D. McCarty enters the game and replaces K. Acosta.
The final change of the match sees the US bring Dax McCarty on in place of Acosta.
83'
G. Zardes enters the game and replaces J. Altidore.
Altidore is showered with applause as he makes the walk to the touchline, replaced by Zardes.
82'
C. Dempsey has scored a goal for United States!
A MILESTONE MARKER FOR CLINT DEMPSEY! USA are through to the final as Dempsey puts the game to bed from a free-kick, driving a terrific effort under the wall and in at the near post from 25 yards, and it pulls him into a tie with Landon Donovan as the US' all-time leading scorer!
80'
J. Leitón enters the game and replaces D. Guzmán.
And the final change now from the Ticos, with Jose Leiton making his international debut in place of Guzman.
78'
R. Azofeifa enters the game and replaces J. Salvatierra.
A second change here for Costa Rica, with midfielder Randall Azofeifa replacing Salvatierra.
76'
USA pressing hard for a second now as Costa Rica seem shaken having conceded so late on. The white shirts are pouring forward with confidence, getting into some decent areas as they look to put this game to bed. They just have to be careful not to get over-eager and leave themselves exposed at the back.

Description
74'
K. Gutiérrez enters the game and replaces Y. Tejeda.
Costa Rica make their first change of the night and it's an odd one as defender Kenner Gutierrez replaces Tejada.
73'
J. Altidore gets yellow.
Altidore is booked for taking his shirt off in the celebration. Rules are rules, but this one needs to be done away with.
72'
J. Altidore has scored a goal for United States! Assist by C. Dempsey.
Dempsey comes off the bench with an immediate impact, providing the assist for Altidore on the goal that may just send USA to the final!
USA HAVE THE BREAKTHROUGH! Altidore may have settled it! The Toronto FC striker produces a delightful little finish to tuck the ball beyond Pemberton after being played through wonderfully by Dempsey! There's the difference provided by the substitute!
71'
HOWARD COMES UP BIG! It's often times hard for a keeper to stay focused and ready to make the big save when their workload has been so light, but Howard doesn't seem to have that issue, as he races off his line again, getting down quickly to his left to deny Urena, who was off to the races!
70'
GREAT REACTIONS! Lovely bit of interplay from the US atop the penalty area, and it results in a chance for Acosta, but his effort is palmed high into the air by Pemberton! Altidore and Morris hunt down the rebound, but the former fouls the keeper as the pressure is relieved.
69'
As the time ticks off the clock in the second half, the chances of penalties continues to increase. At this point it would be hard to suggest that either side really deserves to be in front, with the slight edge going to the US, but perhaps some substitutions can help change the direction this match is heading.
67'
G. González gets yellow.
A booking for both Gonzalez's now as Costa Rica's, Giancarlo, sees yellow.
66'
C. Dempsey enters the game and replaces P. Arriola.
Some life in the crowd now as USA make their first change of the night, with Clint Dempsey coming on to replace Arriola.
65'
GOOD EFFORT! Altidore, who has been quiet tonight, shows a bit of ingenuity here as he pushes forward and drives an effort at goal from 25 yards, stinging the palms of Pemberton. Either side of the keeper and he might have broken the deadlock, but that was dead centre.
63'
STAT: Costa Rica have already matched their highest win total at a Gold Cup, with three. They last achieved that mark in 2002 when they finished runners-up.
61'
O. González gets yellow.
A first yellow card of the night is shown to US defender Omar Gonzalez, for a foul on Urena.
58'
NEARLY AN OWN GOAL! Arriola has been one of the most persistent attackers for the hosts tonight and he's at it again here, driving into the area via the right channel, before thumping in a low cross that Watson loops over Pemberton's head and nearly into the back of his own net!
56'
Costa Rica respond with a decent move of their own, winning themselves a free-kick about 30 yards from goal. Guzman stands over it as the bodies crowd in the centre, but his eventual delivery just eludes the head of Ruiz as Howard is able to punch clear!
54'
STAT: USA have scored in 22 successive Gold Cup matches, dating back to a 5-0 defeat to Mexico in 2009.
52'
NO ONE HOME! USA finally look to exploit the flank and Arriola whips in an inviting cross, with Pemberton stranded, but neither Acosta or Altidore can get a touch on it in the centre! Still, it's an encouraging sign for the hosts.
50'
Costa Rica need to make a change. Either a change in personnel or a change in formation, because right now it's not happening for them. There's no creativity to speak of and no link to be found between midfield and attack.
48'
The USA backline deserves a ton of credit for how well they have played tonight. They have been first to every ball, well organised and sharp in their reading of the game, making Costa Rica work their tails off for every inch of space.
46'
Costa Rica get the second half underway!
45' +1
HALF-TIME: COSTA RICA 0-0 UNITED STATES.
45'
There will be one minute added on at the end of this first half.
43'
Well one thing is for sure, the atmosphere in Arlington has diminished significantly since the opening 15 minutes. The US supporters section are doing their best to rally the crowd, but truth is they have had very little to cheer about across the last half-hour or so.
41'
Into the last five minutes of this first half, and at this point in the quarter-final was where USA broke free, scoring twice in the last few minutes of the first half to go into the break with a commanding lead. Costa Rica went scoreless into the interval, scoring in the final 15 minutes of the match to beat Panama 1-0.
39'
STAT: Costa Rica have won three of the last four meetings against USA (L1).
37'
FIRST CHANCE FOR COSTA RICA! Dazzling run from Ruiz, who cuts through the heart of the US team like a hot knife through butter, before playing through Urena. The striker takes it in stride, but Howard gets off his line in a flash to close down the angle and deny him the opener!
35'
It's the US who are lacking the width now, failing to muster much of a presence on the flanks. Lichaj and Morrow were great in that regard against El Salvador, but Zusi and Villafana's presence in attack has been sporadic at best.
33'
Close to 65 per cent possession for the US, though they have nothing to show for it. What this match really needs, from a neutral perspective, is a goal to open things up. As long as this remains scoreless it would appear that Costa Rica will stick to their gameplan of trying to frustrate the hosts in possession.
31'
Plenty of patient approach play from the Americans, as Costa Rica appear insistent on keeping everyone behind the ball. They're not pressing much, either, instead inviting the hosts to come at them, in what little space can be found in the final third.
29'
STAT: Bruce Arena is one of only two managers to have won the Gold Cup twice (2002 and 2005), along with Bora Milutinovic (USA in 1991 and Mexico in 1996).
27'
A rare foray into attack for Costa Rica, which comes about with a bit of luck, results in a corner. Ruiz delivers it into a dangerous area, but the US are first to it. The hosts break the other way with pace, but Nagbe loses his footing at the vital moment as it comes to nothing.
25'
The match is really struggling to get into any sort of rhythm, which very much plays into Costa Rica's gameplan. They will be happy to take the sting out of the match and halt the US in their tracks given how slowly they have started this match.
23'
It's all a bit too narrow from Costa Rica. They're lacking the width to really test this USA defence, which is a surprising issue for them given their shape, and the fact that they have two full-backs who love to bomb forward on the overlap.
21'
USA are very comfortable knocking the ball around, something Costa Rica have yet to figure out. Oscar Ramirez's side are all out of sorts in possession, very pedestrian in their attempts to advance the ball into attack.
19'
STAT: Costa Rica have lost each of their last three quarter-final matches at the Gold Cup, but two of them required additional time or penalties.
17'
Well Costa Rica will really be counting their lucky stars not to be behind. Twice now they have faced what looked like certain goals for the US, but came out unscathed. Altidore really needed to take that last chance on his own, perhaps smashing an effort low and in towards the far post.
15'
HE'S SKIED IT! Glorious chance for the US to take the lead once again!Stunning build-up play from the hosts! A delicious ball into the centre from Arriola finds Morris, who plays Altidore through first-time. The striker opts not to shoot, pulling it back for Acosta, who sends his off-balance, first-time shot high and wide!
13'
Since the bright start from the US, it's actually all been a bit sluggish out on the pitch. It's becoming increasingly congested in midfield, with neither side currently able to find their way into attack.
11'
Slowly but surely, Costa Rica are growing in stature. They seem to have their footing under them now, and their shape has been figured out, but they are struggling to string more than a few passes together. Nonetheless, they've at least figured out how to combat the US in midfield.
9'
One-way traffic still in Arlington as Costa Rica struggle to get settled in here, and USA are taking advantage of their unprepared start. Meanwhile, Bruce Arena is off on a rant on the touchline about the age of the ball boys working the match. "You can't have eight-year-old kids doing this," says the US coach.
7'
STAT: USA are unbeaten in 12 matches since Bruce Arena returned as coach (W7 D5).
5'
Calvo escapes an early booking as he commits a hard and cynical foul on Arriola. USA really came ready to play today, as they have Costa Rica playing catch-up in these opening stages.
3'
Early domination from the hosts as they enjoy the bulk of possession. There's a terrific atmosphere here in Arlington, as these raucous American fans urge their side forward with anticipation, and they so nearly got the early goal they craved.
1'
AND THEY'RE OFF! USA in white as they get the match underway, attacking left to right, with Costa Rica in dark blue.
OFF THE POST! USA attack straight away and through Morris, who rifles a shot off the near post with Pemberton beaten clean! The rebound comes for Arriola in the centre, but he's unable to control it!
Hello and welcome to the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas for live coverage of this tantilising semi-final clash between Costa Rica and USA as they do battle for a place in Wednesday’s Gold Cup final!
USA brought in reinforcements for the knockout stage, but it was a pair of unlikely scorers in defenders Eric Lichaj and Omar Gonzalez who helped them past El Salvador in the quarter-finals, in what was arguably their only real convincing showing of the Gold Cup thus far.
Costa Rica, on the other hand, have been the most consistent side in this edition of the tournament. Defensively they have been close to unbreachable, conceding one goal through five games, highlighting a string of professional displays to see them through to their first Gold Cup semi-final since 2009.
While a place in the final is plenty enough for these sides, USA will have added motivation following the 4-0 humiliation they suffered against Costa Rica in World Cup qualifying in November, which also served as Jurgen Klinsmann’s last game in charge of the national team.
Costa Rica have never previously won the tournament themselves, but confidence will be high in their camp as they boast arguably their best team in over a decade. Even without many of their European-based players, they should prove a real handful for the hosts tonight.
Oscar Ramirez makes no changes to his side from the 1-0 quarter-final victory over Panama. Marco Urena leads the line, flanked by skipper Bryan Ruiz and David Ramirez. Yeltsin Tejada, Johnny Acosta and David Guzman form the midfield trio, ahead of centre-backs Kendall Watson and Giancarlo Gonzalez, with Jose Salvatierra and Francisco Calvo manning the flanks.
Bruce Arena makes five changes from the victory over El Salvador, three of which come in defence as Graham Zusi, Matt Besler and Jorge Villafana join Omar Gonzalez, with Eric Lichaj, Matt Hedges and Justin Morrow dropping to the bench. Kellyn Acosta replaces Gyasi Zardes in midfield, while Jordan Morris partners Jozy Altidore up top, as Clint Dempsey is limited to a spot amongst the substitutes.
Jordan Morris hit the post inside of 15 seconds and Kellyn Acosta squandered a chance 15 minutes later, while Tim Howard was forced into one save on Marco Urena at the other end, as we head scoreless into the interval in Arlington at the end of what was ultimately a cagey and tight opening 45 minutes.
Clint Dempsey provided a goal and an assist off the bench as he makes history in Arlington, pulling into a tie for first on USA's all-time scoring list. Costa Rica proved stubborn opposition, but Jozy Altidore found the breakthrough on the end of a perfect pass from Dempsey in the 72nd minute, before Dempsey settled it 10 minutes later with a perfectly struck free-kick.
That's all for our live coverage, thanks for following along. Goodbye!
This marks a return to the final for the US for the first time since they won the competition in 2013, and they will face the winner of tomorrow's semi-final between Mexico and Jamaica.
