Good morning. Welcome to our live text commentary as Southampton host Arsenal at St.Mary's Stadium.
The teams are in and here's how Southampton are lining up this afternoon. Southampton XI (3-4-3): Forster, Yoshida, Stephens, Van Dijk, Redmond, Bertrand, Romeu, Hojbjerg, Ward-Prowse, Tadic, Austin. Subs: McCarthy, Hoedt, Davis, Lemina, Boufal, Gabbiadini, Pied.
There's no Theo Walcott for Arsenal as Per Mertesacker comes into the Gunner's defensive line for the injured Shkodran Mustafi. Arsenal XI (3-4-3): Cech, Bellerin, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Monreal, Kolasinac, Xhaka, Ramsey, Sanchez, Ozil, Lacazette. Subs: Ospina, Wilshere, Giroud, Iwobi, Welbeck, Maitland-Niles, Coquelin.
There's some interesting stats behind today's game. Arsenal have won seven of their last 10 Premier League games. However, they have only won two of their last seven away from home. Arsenal beat the Saints 2-0 on their travels in May but haven't won successive away matches at St.Mary's since 1997.
Southampton have only won one of their last six league games and a win today would give them their first set of consecutive home wins this year. The Saints have scored just 23 goals in 26 league matches since the start of April, and just 10 in their last 15 home league matches.
Striker Charlie Austin may be Southampton's good luck charm today as the 28 year-old has scored in seven of his last 10 starts for the club. And when he has scored in his last two appearances against the Gunners, but that was when he played for QPR and they lost on both occasions.
Kick-off is just moments away. Stay right where you are to follow all the action.
So Charlie Austin's early goal separates the two sides at the moment, but Arsenal have had chances through Ramsey and Lacazette, and not taken them. But can they take charge in the second half? Stay with us for more end to end action no doubt.
Have you caught your breath after that pulsating first half? There will be more fast-paced football to come your way shortly.
So thanks to the super-sub rescue of Olivier Giroud, Arsenal are now level on points with fourth-placed Liverpool in the Premier League table, whereas Southampton are still without back to back home wins in 2017. It was very unfortunate for the Saints who troubled Arsenal many times on the counter and they could've been 2-0 up in the first five minutes, had Charlie Austin's second effort bounced off the right side of the post. But Arsene Wenger made key attacking changes late in the game and the Gunners worked patiently for Giroud's equaliser to steal a lucky point.
