Juventus are on course for their ninth win on the bounce in Serie A thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo's strike. The home side have not been at their best, but once again have been good enough in front of goal to edge their way in front. Ronaldo will not have scored many goals easier than his strike here, tapping home from close range after Joao Cancelo's effort was deflected into his path six yards out. Genoa have flashed a couple of times on the break, but Krzysztof Piatek has been held in check thus far.
Massimiliano Allegri will have one eye on his side's Champions League clash against Manchester United during the week. His team look relatively comfortable in the game, but Juve have to be wary of the threat of Piatek, holding only a one-goal lead.
Juventus are on the march towards another Serie A crown, making the perfect start to the campaign by winning all eight of their matches. They saw off Udinese last time out with relative ease and will look to continue their imperious form this afternoon. Genoa have made a decent start to their term, taking 12 points from their opening seven games, but that did not stop them sacking Davide Ballardini during the international break. They're in mid-table, but did suffer a disappointing defeat at the hands of Parma last time out despite taking the lead through the impressive Krzysztof Piatek. New manager Ivan Juric faces a huge challenge to stop the Juve juggernaut.
Next up for Juventus in their Champions League clash against Manchester United during the week at Old Trafford before they face Empoli on the road in Serie A. Genoa host Udinese in their next league outing.
Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
