We're underway at Selhurst Park.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Crystal Palace and Brighton and Hove Albion at Selhurst Park.
Palace are on a good run of form in the Premier League, losing only one of their last six games, which came against Manchester United two weeks ago. Last time out, they produced a fine performance on the road to defeat Burnley 3-1 as an own goal from Phil Bardsley along with strikes from Michy Batshuayi and Wilfried Zaha secured the win. The result took them eight points clear of the relegation zone, although there's still work ahead for Roy Hodgson's men.
Brighton secured an important win over Huddersfield last time out to end a poor run of form in the Premier League. The Seagulls had endured a winless run of seven matches, having failed to record a league victory in 2019. However, Florin Andone's strike clinched the win, boosting his side's survival hopes, although they remain only five points clear of the relegation zone.
SUBS: Julian Speroni, Joel Ward, Max Meyer, Cheikhou Kouyate, Jordan Ayew, Christian Benteke, Martin Kelly.
BRIGHTON (4-3-3): Mat Ryan; Martin Montoya, Lewis Dunk, Shane Duffy, Bernardo; Yves Bissouma, Dale Stephens, Davy Propper; Anthony Knockaert, Florin Andone, Alireza Jahanbakhsh.
SUBS: Gaetan Bong, Beram Kayal, Glenn Murray, Jose Izquierdo, Solly March, David Button, Dan Burn.
CRYSTAL PALACE (4-3-3): Vicente Guaita; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, James Tomkins, Scott Dann, Patrick van Aanholt; James McArthur, Luka Milivojevic, Jeffrey Schlupp; Andros Townsend, Michy Batshuayi, Wilfried Zaha.
Palace have struggled to break down the Brighton backline, who are sitting deep to counter the pace of Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend on the flanks. Roy Hodgson's men are being too ponderous with their attacking play in the final third and need to force Mat Ryan into action in the Brighton goal.
Palace are next in action in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup against Watford at Vicarage Road next week. Brighton are also in cup action against Millwall on the road.
Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
