90' +2
Whelan tries his luck with a shot from 35 yards out, but he actually shoots towards the corner flag. He will claim it is a pass but at least he wastes more time.

The referee must intervene as both sets of players come together. Hourihane jumped into the back of Gvilia but there was very little in it and both teams need to calm down.

37'
Hourihane's strike has just settled everyone down inside the Aviva Stadium and the home fans are enjoying this performance so far.
35'
C. Hourihane has scored a goal for Republic of Ireland!
GOAAAALLLLLLL! Ireland 1-0 Georgia - Hourihane is the hero as he opens the scoring from the free-kick. The Aston Villa man had to wait for all the protests to finish and he remained composed and calm before taking the set piece. The wall looked solid enough, but he still had enough room to curl the ball around and into the top corner. What a way to score your first goal for Ireland.
34'
We have a break in play before this free-kick is taken. The Ireland fans are protesting by throwing tennis balls onto the pitch. McClean and Randolph are now going across to clear them from the field.

10'
Georgia are starting to give free-kicks away and that is a sign that they are worried about Ireland's pace down the flanks.
8'
Georgia are now trying to stay behind the ball and frustrate the home side and this is going to be a real midfield battle.

Ireland win a free-kick on the right wing and it is Hourihane that tries to find a team-mate but he can only pass the ball into the hands of Loria.
3'
Georgia are expected to try and play on the counter attack tonight with their 4-1-4-1 formation. Ireland will need to be wary of that threat inside the first few minutes, with a strong start vital for McCarthy's troops.
1'
We are underway in Dublin as Georgia kick the game off.
Good evening and welcome to tonight's live coverage of the Euro 2020 qualifier between the Republic of Ireland and Georgia. The Aviva Stadium will host tonight's clash as Mick McCarthy's side try to build on their 1-0 win over Gibraltar.
McCarthy's men got off to a winning start last time out, but the fans were left disappointed with the display in the win over Gibraltar. Jeff Hendrick's goal proved the difference in what was Ireland's first win since June 2018.
Georgia look set to pose a tougher test, with the visitors ranked 91st in the world rankings. Vladimir Weiss' side have only lost one of their last seven games in all competitions and that came last time out against Switzerland.
REPUBLIC OF IRELAND (4-2-3-1): Darren Randolph, Seamus Coleman, Shane Duffy, Richard Keogh, Enda Stevens; Conor Hourihane, Glenn Whelan; Robbie Brady, Jeff Hendrick, James McClean; David McGoldrick.
SUBS: Kevin Long, Sean Maguire, Josh Cullen, Alan Judge, Matt Doherty, James Collins, Jack Byrne, Mark Travers, John Egan, Aiden O'Brien, Harry Arter, Keiren Westwood.
The players are on the pitch and we are now just waiting for the national anthems.
Georgia did not really do enough to trouble Ireland across the first 45 minutes but Gvilia's chance proves they are still in this game. Second half coverage coming up shortly...
While some Ireland fans will have wanted more goals, six points from two games cannot be sniffed at. McCarthy's side are now not back in action until June, but they face a daunting trip to Denmark in their next Euro 2020 qualifier. They then face Gibraltar again and they could be sitting pretty after the first four games. Georgia take on the same two teams in the opposite order and they will need to respond quickly after back-to-back defeats.
That is all for tonight folks, thanks for joining us. Goodbye!!
