It's into the wall and Wales get it clear! They're hanging on now under some pressure.
90'
J. Allen gets yellow.
It's a case of keep-ball for Wales now. Play it safe, retain possession and don't give Azerbaijan any opportunity to get near their goal. They're in control for the minute, trying to hold the ball near the corner flag.
Allen is shown a yellow card for tackling Xalilzade from behind.
Hennessey makes an awful mistake and passes the ball straight into Seydaev, who flicks it onto Xalilzade. It forces Allen into making a foul and Azerbaijan have a free-kick in a dangerous position.
86'
A. Ramazanov enters the game and replaces D. Nazarov.
Nazarov makes way for Ramazanov in one final roll of the dice for Azerbaijan.
This is Bale's first goal of Wales' Euro 2020 qualifying campaign and what a time for it to arrive! If Wales had gone on to draw this game, it would have spelt the end of their campaign. But Bale delivers just when his side needed him the most.
84'
G. Bale has scored a goal for Wales!
GOAAAAL! WALES LEAD 2-1! Bale takes advantage of panic in the box! Roberts crosses, but it's cleared only to Allen inside the area. He attempts a shot, which is blocked, but Azerbaijan defend it poorly and Bale manages to leap above his markers at the near post and head the ball back across goal and over the line!
82'
Bale takes, but it's into the wall! Wales try to recycle possession, but the move breaks down.
81'
A. Krivotsyuk gets yellow.
Krivotsyuk is shown a yellow card for that tackle on Williams.
Wales have a chance here! Krivotsyuk gives away a free-kick for a foul on Williams and it's very much in Bale's range just outside the box.
80'
B. Davies enters the game and replaces N. Taylor.
Davies, who's yet to feature for club side Tottenham so far, is on for Taylor.
76'
Wales have lacked a focal point up front all through the game, with Bale dropping deep and James and Wilson - before he was taken off - staying wide. Giggs waited until now to introduce one, but maybe Vokes will make the difference.
75'
S. Vokes enters the game and replaces E. Ampadu.
Ampadu's last contribution is to hurt himself in a challenge with Nazarov, so he comes off for Vokes.

Description
73'
T. Xəlilzadə enters the game and replaces Ş. Rəhimov.
Rahimov has gone down with cramp and play has been stopped to let the physios on.
Rahimov can't continue and he makes way for Xalilzade.
69'
R. Eyyubov enters the game and replaces R. Almeyda.
Maybe it's to do with his yellow card, but Almeida is taken off for Eyyubov.
68'
Allen now lines up a shot from distance, but it's deflected behind for a corner. Williams delivers, but it doesn't beat the first man.
66'
R. Almeyda gets yellow.
Almeida is shown a yellow card for sliding into James from behind.
65'
Seydaev shows his strength and speed to get away from Bale out on the far side of the pitch, but Wales win the ball back and can launch an attack of their own.
63'
J. Williams enters the game and replaces H. Wilson.
Well, this is a shock for Wales! Azerbaijan were comfortably beaten 5-1 by Slovakia in their previous game, but they've managed to level today. Wales seemed to switch off and were undone by a simple pass near the halfway line.
Wales make a change as Williams comes on for his 18th cap, in place of Wilson.
61'
Wales have an immediate chance to respond, James whipping in a cross - but it evades everyone at the far post! There are three Welsh players all queueing up, but no one gets a touch!
58'
M. Emreli has scored a goal for Azerbaijan!
GOAAAAAAL! AZERBAIJAN ARE LEVEL! Seydaev pounces on a mistake by Taylor and plays a great throughball into Emreli. Hennessey saves his first effort, but he could do nothing about the rebound and Emreli nets his fourth goal for his country.
55'
A mistake from Krivotsyuk sets up a chance for Lawrence, but nothing comes of it and the Azerbaijan left-back is let off the hook.
52'
C. Mepham gets yellow.
Mepham needlessly goes into the book for bringing down Seydaev.
50'
Almeida has a chance to start a counter and he finds Nazarov, but he's brought down by Wilson for a free-kick.
48'
Rodon drives forwards from centre-back - a mazy run carrying him towards the box - but the move breaks down when the ball reaches James.
46'
KICK-OFF! Wales restart the game defending a 1-0 lead.
45' +1
HALF-TIME: WALES 1-0 AZERBAIJAN.
44'
Azerbaijan win a free-kick, Mepham with the foul on Emreli - and the Azerbaijan midfielder seems to throw an arm back towards Mepham's face. There's no card shown.
43'
Wilson decides to play it short into Roberts down the left-hand side and he wins a corner.
42'
D. Nazarov gets yellow.
Nazarov is the first to be shown a yellow card for a high foot into Roberts' chest. Wales have a free-kick in another good position.
41'
Wilson leads the counter-attack for Wales and passes inside to Lawrence, who sends it on to James on his right. He's got no intention of making another pass to Bale and unleashes from distance, but it's blocked for a corner.
38'
Almeida is under pressure in his own defensive third and nearly loses the ball, but he uses his body well to shield it and wins a free-kick off Lawrence.
37'
Azerbaijan now in possession, circulating the ball in the middle third. It's patient build-up and they work the ball up to Nazarov just outside the box - but his attempted throughball goes out for a goal-kick.
35'
Maybe this is an issue Giggs needs to address - Wales lack a natural striker. Bale is listed as the furthest forward, but he's been dropping between the lines for most of the game, trying to encourage James and Wilson to run beyond him.
33'
James again has an opportunity to cross - this time played in by Wilson - and he sends the ball into the six-yard box, but there's no one there to attack it. A good chance goes begging.
31'
Bale wriggles his way out of pressure in the centre of the pitch and sets James free with a pass into the left-hand channel. The Manchester United winger drives into the box, cuts back onto his right, but his cross is cleared.
28'
Perhaps Pashayev was too concerned with James trying to get in behind him, but he had no idea where the ball was. It was really poor defending and his goalkeeper will be furious with him.
26'
P. Paşayev is unfortunate, scores an own goal!
GOAAAAL! WALES LEAD! They'll take that! A terrible misunderstanding sees Wales go in front! Bale creates space to take a long shot and it's deflected - Pashayev is completely oblivious to the ball, it hits him on the shoulder and rolls into the net! What a disaster!
24'
Taylor with an attempt to find James darting in behind the defence, but Medvedev gets across to cut it out.
22'
The game's settled a little more after that frantic minute, with Azerbaijan now in possession and moving the ball around the midfield.
20'
It's all action! Roberts does excellently to find Bale, who tries to pick out a team-mate with a low cross. Azerbaijan clear, but only as far as Allen who sends in another pass. There's appeals for handball as Azerbaijan clear once more and eventually win a free-kick.
18'
Almedia now goes down after a challenge from Wilson - and the Welshman appears to stamp on Almedia out of frustration! The referee awards the free-kick, but no further action is taken.
17'
Rahimov gives away a free-kick for a strong challenge on Roberts - Wilson, again, stands over the set piece and it's a decent angle for a cross.
It's another deep ball and Agayev gets his fists to it, punching it clear.
15'
Azerbaijan are certainly capable of causing Wales a few issues today. They're beginning to settle into the game and look comfortable in possession - it's the final decision that needs work.
11'
A nice one-two from Azerbaijan in the centre of the pitch creates space for Medvedev to attack - but he elects to shoot from distance and, as you'd expect from a centre-back, the shot goes harmlessly wide.
9'
James is involved once more, holding the ball up and passing inside to Wilson rushing into the box. But the Bournemouth loanee takes one touch too many and runs out of space.
8'
James is on the move again, but Seydaev - tracking back from the front - makes a challenge and concedes a throw.
7'
Azerbaijan now enjoying their first extended spell of possession, but it's rather sterile. They haven't managed to progress the ball into the final third, in large part due to Wales' early pressing.
5'
Bale surges down the right, gets a cross in to the near post and Lawrence swings, but he doesn't get it on target.
3'
Wilson stands over it, delivers a ball to the back post and Rodon sticks a leg out, but he can't hook it back into the six-yard box.
2'
James already causes the Azerbaijan backline a few problems, winning a free-kick on the left-hand side of the box.
1'
KICK-OFF! Azerbaijan get the game started.
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Euro 2020 qualifier between Wales and Azerbaijan.
Wales are approaching much-win territory against Azerbaijan - they lost their last two qualifiers and sit second-bottom in Group E, already six points off Hungary at the top. They’ll hope to give their campaign a much-needed boost against an Azerbaijan side that have lost every game, conceding 10 goals in that time.
WALES XI (4-2-3-1): Wayne Hennessey; Connor Roberts, Joe Rodon, Chris Mepham, Neil Taylor; Joe Allen, Ethan Ampadu; Daniel James, Tom Lawrence, Harry Wilson; Gareth Bale.
SUBS: Tom Lockyer, James Lawrence, Jonathan Williams, Ben Davies, Joe Morrel, Will Vaulks, Adam Davies, Chris Gunter, Sam Vokes, Kieffer Moore, Matthew Smith, Danny Ward.
AZERBAIJAN XI (4-2-3-1): Salahat Agayev; Pavel Pashayev, Maksim Medvedev, Bahlul Mustafazade, Anton Krivotsyuk; Richard Almeida, Qara Qarayev; Mahir Emreli, Dimitrij Nazarov, Shahriyar Rahimov; Ramil Seydaev.
Azerbaijan will be disappointed. They've held their own at the back and looked comfortable before and after going behind, but it's in the final third where the problems are. If they can improve up front, they'll be able to test Hennessey, who's largely been uninvolved so far.
By the skin of their teeth, Wales stay in the hunt for a spot at Euro 2020. They're up to third for now, just three points off Hungary and Croatia, but could fall back down to fourth should Slovakia beat Hungary in the next round of games. They won't be involved as they have a friendly against Belarus on Monday. For Azerbaijan, it's back to the drawing board. Their Euro 2020 hopes are certainly over, and it's Croatia next on Monday - a game they're expected to lose.
That's all from us for Wales' 2-1 victory over Azerbaijan. Thanks for staying with us and, until next time, goodbye!
