Courtois wastes a few seconds before picking the ball up at the edge of his area with Exposito lurking.
89'
Ramos and Mendy combine well to win a throw-in inside their own half, and Madrid float the ball from one side to the other and back again to relieve a moment of pressure.
86'
Diaz exchanges passes with Modric before going down under the challenge of Cote, but there's no foul given by the referee.
83'
Benzema runs into trouble at the edge of the area, when he probably should have laid it off to Vinicius on the left. He had made a good run, but the pass never came.
81'
Charles enters the game and replaces Kike García.
Edu Expósito enters the game and replaces P. Diop.
Brahim Díaz enters the game and replaces Lucas Vázquez.
Diaz gets a chance from the bench, replacing Vazquez.
Diop is replaced by Charles.
Substitution Enrique García Martínez Charles Días Barbosa de Oliveira
79'
Bigas puts in a superb sliding tackle on Vazquez as the ball breaks for him at the edge of the area after good work from Benzema. Madrid get a corner on the right, which is headed away by Arbilla.
78'
Modric ends up flat on his back on the half-way line after just failing to complete a one-two with Vinicius. The Brazilian probably would have been in again had Modric managed to divert the return pass through a crowd of Eibar players.
76'
Modric dangles a pass in behind for Benzema to chase, but Dmitrovic spots it and comes out to hoof it clear.
Minute
Description
74'
Carvajal and Cote battle for the ball by the left corner flag, and the Madrid man spins out of control into the advertising hoarding. He goes back-first, and he looks to be in a bit of pain after the collision. That'll ache in the morning.
73'
Isco immediately gives away a free-kick, hacking at Arbilla's ankle. He'll be keen to make an impact here, even if he does only get 20 minutes.
72'
Isco enters the game and replaces F. Valverde.
Vinícius Júnior enters the game and replaces E. Hazard.
Valverde, who created the first goal and scored the fourth, is replaced by Isco. He's been great today.
Hazard was electric in the first half but quiet in the second, and he goes off for Vinicius.
71'
Madrid hold onto possession for a little while, making Eibar chase the ball before presumably going for a final salvo late in the game. Isco is getting ready on the touchline too.
70'
The free-kick is well overhit by Leon, and it fizzes out for a goal kick. Vinicius looks like he'll be joining us shortly.
69'
Vazquez fouls Diop, and Eibar get another free-kick on the left. It's in a deeper position this time, but still a decent angle to deliver a cross in.
67'
Eibar win a free-kick on the left, and Leon fires in a good, powerful delivery towards Diop. He can't quite direct it goalwards, and it's blocked in a crowd of players before being cleared away.
65'
Pedro León enters the game and replaces Fabián Orellana.
Hazard slips a pass through to Ramos, who for some reason has made an overlapping run down the left flank. He attempts a sort of heel-to-heel flick and while he doesn't quite pull it off, it comes back to him and he delivers a cross, which is cleared.
A first change for Eibar, as Leon comes on for Orellana.
64'
Even while Madrid hadn't been playing well earlier in the season, Valverde had been a highlight of the campaign. Now they're flying, and the 21-year-old is flourishing.
61'
F. Valverde has scored a goal for Real Madrid! Assist by L. Modrić.
A loose ball just inside the Madrid half is seized upon by Bigas, who hits it first time toward goal. It's an absolutely fizzing effort, caught perfectly, but it spins comfortably wide to the right of goal. Huge respect to the defender for having a go.
Modric gets the assist, showing his vision once again with a perfect pass back to Valverde to slam home from the edge of the area.
GOAL! 4-0 Madrid, Valderde caps a great performance with a goal! Benzema finds Mendy on the left and though he overhits his cross, it drops to Modric at the other side of the area. Modric plays it back to Valverde just inside the D, and he opens his body up to side-foot right-footed into the bottom-right corner. Lovely stuff.
60'
Benzema spreads the play out to Vazquez on the right. He plays it infield to Modric at the edge of the area, but the midfielder's attempted lay-off back to Benzema is cut out.
59'
Orellana comes in from the right and looks to thread a reverse pass in towards Kike, but it's cut out by Ramos.
58'
Eibar have started the second half really well. Three goals still looks a long way off, but they're creating chances and have really upped their workrate. A looping pass over the top from Arbilla drops towards Arbilla some eight yards out, but he can't connect with a volley as it drops from the heavens.
56'
Casemiro trundles off, and looks like he'll be able to come back on. The corner is cleared but it comes back in from the right towards Enrich, who heads it onto the hand of Ramos - but there's no way he could have reacted to it, and no penalty is given.
53'
Orellana crosses from the left and Kike almost gets on the end of it, but he can't get a clean connection. Eibar then win a corner on the right, with Casemiro going down in a heap after a late challenge from Enrich.
52'
Carvajal crosses from deep on the right. Benzema, just outside the six-yard box, has time to take it down deftly with an outstretched boot but can't quite lay it off to Vazquez as Eibar defenders swarm around him.
51'
Escalante finds De Blasis in some space on the right, and he comes infield pass Mendy. He shoots left-footed, looking to bend it towards the far top corner, but lifts his effort some way over the bar.
49'
Madrid hold onto the ball for a little while, with Eibar having a much more difficult time of keeping hold of possession than their opponents. They did a lot of chasing in the first half, and you'd suspect chances will come Madrid's way as they tire.
47'
Madrid take the corner short before Modric delivers with the outside of his foot from the left, but it's an easy enough catch for Dmitrovic.
46'
Hazard starts exactly where he left off in the first half, cutting inside past Escalante and Cote and shooting right-footed towards the bottom-left corner from the edge of the area. It deflects behind for a Madrid corner.
45' +4
HALF-TIME: EIBAR 0-3 REAL MADRID
45' +3
Cote crosses from the left and finds Enrich at the edge of the six-yard box. He's challenged by both centre-backs and while he wins the header, it floats over the crossbar.
45' +2
Madrid play the ball around their own half as stoppage time ticks away, but Eibar press them pretty well. They eventually win the ball back, but only once it's gone back to the halfway line.
45' +1
Orellana wins a free-kick out on the right as he backs into Varane. Madrid's first foul of the half. Three minutes added on.
The free-kick from Orellana is floated toward Escalante at the back post. It's just out of reach for Courtois but the angle is really difficult for the midfielder, and he can only divert it over the bar.
45'
Kike is caught late just outside the area, to the right in what would be an excellent position for a free-kick. He doesn't get one.
We're back at it again with the white Varanes as Zidane's side get us underway for the second half. Like 'white vans', that incredibly dated vine reference? Because Madrid play in white? No? Ok. Anyway, it's still hammering down with rain here, and there don't look to have been any changes at the break.
44'
Modric asks Courtois to put the ball out as he's in some pain, feeling his right ankle. He's just taken a whack to it in a melee in the penalty area, and he'll be able to carry on.
43'
Inui chops onto his right foot and delivers a good cross toward the edge of the six-yard box, but it's headed away.
42'
Eibar's attackers are still pressing and snapping at loose balls in the Madrid half, but they're not getting a lot to work with. The home side are seeing more of the ball as the half comes to an end, but you have to think they need a goal before half-time if they're going to pull off a comeback here.
40'
Eibar almost get a chance from a misplaced pass in defence, as the ball comes to Orellana on the right. His pull-back towards Kike is underhit and Varane can clear before the striker surely would have knocked it home. Eibar keep the pressure on and another shot is blocked, but eventually the move breaks down as Hazard is fouled.
39'
Hazard is doing that thing he does where he spends 90 minutes taking the absolute mickey out of the opposition right-back. He and Mendy have absolutely terrorised De Blasis, who must be begging for the half-time whistle. This time, Hazard's cross is overhit and comes to nothing.
38'
Inui twice gets the chance to break into the area from the left. His first cross is cleared before he shoots towards the far post, but Carvajal gets a block in. Carvajal looks in some discomfort, testing his knee after the block, but he seems ok to carry on.
37'
The home fans are still making a fair racket here, to be fair to them. It's a horrible night, hammering down with rain, and their side are being absolutely thrashed, but they're enjoying themselves.
36'
Mendy beats De Blasis again down the left, cutting back onto his right foot and crossing towards Valverde arriving at the edge of the area. He overhits the cross, and the midfielder can't quite leap high enough to bring it down.
35'
An Eibar ball over the top almost breaks for Kike off Casemiro's head, but Varane sweeps up the danger. Cote then delivers a good low cross from the left. It's easily collected by Courtois as it angles toward his back post, but that was begging for somebody to run onto it.
33'
Carvajal gets a pass back from Vazquez on the right, and he gets his cross all wrong. He almost gets lucky as it bends towards the far top corner, and Dmitrovic has to scramble across to tip it over. Eibar then clear the resulting corner.
32'
Kike gets up to meet the corner from the right, but Varane is there to clear away again. The ball comes to Cote on the left and he delivers a good-looking cross from deep, but Courtois rises highest to take the catch.
31'
A rare chance for Eibar as Kike gets in behind down the right. He looks to square for Enrich, but Varane is there to put it behind.
30'
Madrid have had plenty of critics this season, but they have been absolutely different class tonight. They look like scoring every time they come forward. Benzema, Hazard, Modric, Valderde, Mendy all excellent. That's half the team, and I could name more!
29'
Penalty goal scored by K. Benzema for Real Madrid!
GOOALL! 3-0 Madrid, Benzema steps up and gets his second goal of the night. It's exactly the same as Ramos' spot-kick, he sidefoots into the bottom-left corner with Dmitrovic going the other way. Madrid are rampant.
26'
Casemiro finds Vazquez by the right corner flag, but his low cross is hacked away by Arbilla. Eibar have a half-chance to break as Kike heads down well, but nobody can latch onto it.
25'
Eibar look to build a move down the right wing but Orellana's pass hits the back of Enrich's boot. Hazard then produces some magic down the Madrid left, beating two men before producing a rabona cross towards Benzema. It's just cut out, but he is really enjoying himself tonight.
24'
Bigas does well under pressure after an unwanted backpass leaves him with two Madrid players hunting him down by the touchline and a bouncing ball coming his way. He wins a throw-in, which is probably the best he could have hoped for.
23'
Casemiro's looping pass inside his own half drops to Inui, but the Japan international has to stretch for it and he can't control. Madrid then relieve the pressure on themselves as Casemiro is fouled.
22'
Benzema feeds a ball in behind to Hazard, who looks to tap the ball past Dmitrovic who has come rushing out of his area. The two collide and Hazard screams for a foul, but the referee is a long way away and says no dice.
20'
Penalty goal scored by Sergio Ramos for Real Madrid!
GOAL! Two in three minutes for Madrid, Ramos converts from the spot! The captain steps up, pauses, and passes the ball into the bottom-left corner with the keeper going the other way.
17'
K. Benzema has scored a goal for Real Madrid!
GOOAAL! 1-0 Madrid, Benzema sidefoots home! Valderde bursts into the area, but neither he nor Modric can quite work a good shooting angle. Modric's shot deflects kindly for Madrid, dropping back to Valverde who passes it left to Benzema and the Frenchman has a tap-in.
16'
Enrich is penalised for a niggly foul on Ramos, over on the Eibar right wing.
15'
Modric does well to intercept an Orellana pass midway inside the Madrid half, but he can't keep hold of the ball to spring a counter-attack.
13'
Mendy gets to the byline after another good run down the left. He cuts back onto his right foot to cross towards Benzema at the back post, but Cote gets a flicked clearance in.
12'
The Madrid corner is cleared away and Eibar take the ball back up towards the halfway line, but Diop misplaces a pass and gives away a throw.
10'
Inui and Carvajal do battle down the Eibar left, shoulder to shoulder. The Madrid man wins that particular battle, and gets a goal kick for his efforts.
9'
It wasn't a free-kick after all - Madrid got the corner over on the right. Modric delivers, but the ball comes straight back to him and he's offside. Escalante is back on.
8'
We're still waiting for Escalante to receive treatment here, it looks as though Escalante's nose collided with Mendy's head as the two went for the ball. He's getting patched up, but he looks as if he'll be able to carry on.
5'
Madrid are on top now. Modric and Valderde combine to find Lucas in a good position to the right of the penalty area. He fires in a low cross with Benzema lurking at the edge of the six-yard box, but Bigas is alert to the danger and he hacks it away.
3'
Hazard comes in from the left, but he's marshalled away from the penalty area by De Blasis and Madrid recycle possession back to the halfway line.
2'
Eibar show their attacking intent right from the off, they aren't here to scrap for a draw. That leaves a bit of room in behind for Hazard to run into down the left. He holds it up for Mendy on the overlap, but the left-back's cross is overhit.
1'
We're off! The home side get us underway, launching an attack down the left wing and winning a throw-in.
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of this La Liga clash, as Jose Luis Mendilibar’s Eibar host Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid at Ipurua Futbol Zelaia.
EIBAR (4-4-2): Marko Dmitrovic; Cote, Pedro Bigas, Anaitz Arbilla, Pablo De Blasis; Takashi Inui, Pape Diop, Gonzalo Escalante, Fabian Orellana; Sergi Enrich, Kike Garcia.
Madrid come into this game level on points with Barcelona, who play Celta Vigo later this evening, while Real Sociedad's draw yesterday has taken them top for the time being. Eibar are down in 14th but, with La Liga looking hugely competitive this season, they started the weekend only seven points off the top - though Barca and Madrid do have a game in hand.
SUBS: Charles, Quique Gonzalez, Esteban Burgos, Alvaro Tejero, Yoel Rodriguez, Edu Exposito, Pedro Leon.
REAL MADRID (4-3-3): Thibaut Courtois, Ferland Mendy, Sergio Ramos, Raphael Varane, Dani Carvajal; Fede Valverde, Casemiro, Luka Modric; Eden Hazard, Karim Benzema, Lucas Vazquez.
SUBS: Toni Kroos, Brahim Diaz, Rodrygo, Alphonse Areola, Vinicius Junior, Eder Militao, Isco.
The players are on their way out onto the pitch, and kick-off is just a couple of minutes away.
There were some eyebrows raised at Zidane's line-up before the game, but he's been totally vindicated by his side's performance. Will he now look to give some more game time to the likes of Rodrygo or Vinicius with the game surely dead and buried?
Madrid go back to the top of La Liga for the time being at least, with Barcelona kicking off against Celta Vigo in half an hour. Eibar drop to 15th, but this wasn't a match they would have been expecting to take anything from.
That's it from me tonight, hope you've enjoyed. Until the next time, adios!
