Patient football by City, they've dropped the pace of the game and are just comfortably keeping the ball in their opponents half, looking to carve open an opportunity.
GOOOAAALLL! Shakhtar have equalised, Solomon with the goal to make it 1-1! It's a brilliant quick counter, with Tete laying it off to Dodo on the overlap down the right, he drags the ball back to Solomon, who slides it into the back of the net, just evading a couple of City defenders.

GOOOAAALLL! City finally get the breakthrough, they lead 1-0! Gundogan with the goal to put the hosts ahead. However, the midfielder was in a much better position and slides it into the back of the net.
De Bruyne sprints into the penalty area, lays it off to Jesus, who unselfishly squares it to Gundogan, who makes no mistakes with the finish.

The City front three of Sterling, Jesus and Bernando Silva haven't created much so far, they've been well marked by the visitors defence, with De Bruyne and Gundogan orchestrating much of City's attacking moves.
52'
It's all City, with Shakhtar hardly touching the ball so far in this second half, it's very much attack versus defence at the moment. City are just lacking a clinical final ball in the attacking third.

17'
Almost! This time Ederson gets to the ball and makes the clearance, just as Tete was about to reach it. It was another long ball in-behind the City defence and Shakhtar's quick attacks are causing the hosts a lot of problems.

No chances for either side yet, both are struggling to keep the ball, with City just starting to edge possession, but it's all in the middle of the pitch and they are yet to create anything in the final third.
5'
City will be through if they avoid defeat against Shakhtar, or if Dinamo Zagreb fail to beat Atalanta. Meanwhile Shakhtar can go through if they beat City and Dinamo lose to Atalanta, as they have a superior head-to-head away goals over Dinamo.
