Hello and welcome to live match coverage of the Europa League fixture in Group K between Wolves and Besiktas at Molineux Stadium.
Wolves come into this clash looking to capture top spot and return to winning ways after drawing 3-3 with first-placed Braga last time out in Europe. The visitors, meanwhile, will be seeking to secure back-to-back victories following their 2-1 win over Slovan Bratislava in their previous Europa League match.
WOLVES (3-5-2): John Ruddy; Ryan Bennett, Conor Coady, Max Kilman; Oskar Burr, Leander Dendoncker, Joao Moutinho, Ruben Neves, Ruben Vinagre; Pedro Neto, Patrick Cutrone.
The home side come into this clash having lost just one of their opening five matches. Nuno Espirito Santo’s team have already qualified for the knockout stages of the Europa League, although they can still leapfrog Braga to clinch first place if they beat Besiktas and the Portuguese side fail to win against Slovan Bratislava. The visitors, meanwhile, have won just one match thus far in Europe and have also conceded 11 goals which is the most of any team in Group K. Besiktas are out of contention to qualify, but can finish the group in third place if results go their way.
The teams are out, and kick-off will soon be upon us here at Molineux Stadium.
Despite being fairly comfortable in possession of the ball, Espirito Santo will be hoping for more creativity from his side when going forward after the restart. Cutrone and Neto faded as the half went on with neither striker receiving much service, while Vinagre has looked bright down the left-hand side. The visitors, meanwhile, will be pleased with their first-half performance as they successfully nullified Wolves’ attacking threat while looking dangerous on the break.
Wolves will find out their opponents for the next round of the Europa League on December 16th but, before then, host Tottenham in the Premier League. Besiktas, meanwhile, welcome Yeni Malatyaspor when they return to domestic action.
That brings an end to our coverage of the Europa League fixture in Group K between Wolves and Besiktas at Molineux Stadium. Thank you very much for joining us. Goodbye!
