Into the final seconds, and Tottenham are keeping possession well...
90' +2
G. Sigurðsson has scored a goal for Tottenham Hotspur! Assist by C. Eriksen.
GOAL!!! SIGURDSSON SURELY WITH THE WINNER! Tottenham have finally completed the comeback after Fonte's poor headed clearance is picked up by Eriksen. He feeds Sigurdsson on the edge of the box, and he drives powerfully past Boruc. Huge celebrations in the stands and from Sherwood on the touchline.
90' +1
We will have four minutes of stoppage time. Can either side find a last gasp winner?
89'
S. Gallagher enters the game and replaces R. Lambert.
Southampton really going for this after weathering the storm, and Lambert is unfortunate to see a shot from the edge of the box go just wide.
That effort is Lambert's last action of the match as he is replaced by youngster Gallagher.
88'
Sherwood has again come down to the touchline for these closing stages but he doesn't look too happy. After getting back into this one he would have hoped his team might have led by now.
86'
Less than five minutes to go now for one of these teams to find a winner. Tottenham's spell of pressure seems to have ended and Southampton again look confident.
84'
Southampton continue to commit plenty of men forward, but they just don't seem to have the same understanding as they did in the first half. Meanwhile Soldado tries his luck from 20 yards but his shot on the turn is always heading wide.
82'
J. Cork gets yellow.
Southampton all of a sudden have come to life, and Ramirez is playing an instrumental role as he gets in behind, but after he finds Lallana the England man delays for too long and Tottenham win possession. Cork is then booked for shirt pulling in midfield.
80'
Southampton finally get an effort in on goal as Ramirez's backheel frees Lallana, but his cross is just too high for Lambert and he can only divert his header over the bar.
78'
N. Bentaleb gets yellow.
Eriksen is still looking the most likely to create something for Tottenham, and Lovren has to do well to head away the Dane's wicked cross into the box.
Bentaleb picks up a yellow card after he pulls back Ward-Prowse with Southampton looking to counter-attack.
Minute
Description
76'
Soldado has provided Eriksen with plenty of chances today, but the midfielder cannot quite return the favour this time as his cross from the left is just too strong for the Spaniard. Spurs looking the more likely to find a winner.
74'
Yet another opportunity for Tottenham as Eriksen's free-kick is cleared as far as Sigurdsson, but the Iceland international can only stab his effort wide from the edge of the area.
72'
A. Townsend enters the game and replaces A. Lennon.
Tottenham now make their second substitution as Townsend replaces Lennon in a straight swap on the right-hand side.
71'
Lallana is doing his best to lift his team-mates, with the captain buzzing around in midfield in trying to win the ball. Spurs still well on top though.
69'
Eriksen has been excellent today, and he almost gets himself a hat-trick as a brilliant ball over the top from Kaboul finds him, and it takes a superb block from Chambers to deflect his effort over the top.
68'
Lambert has been very quiet in the second half with Spurs dominating, but when he finds himself in possession he wastes the opportunity as he sends a cross straight out of play under pressure from Vertonghen.
66'
All of a sudden Southampton look revitalised, and although a short period of pressure doesn't lead to anything, it will at least keep the Tottenham defence on their toes heading into the final quarter of the match.
64'
G. Ramírez enters the game and replaces J. Rodríguez.
Southampton make their second change as the scorer of the first goal, Rodriguez, is replaced by Ramirez.
62'
Southampton just can't get the ball clear, and Bentaleb almost creates something as he robs Cork before crossing into the box. The visitors get the ball away but Sherwood's team just keep piling forward.
60'
D. Lovren gets yellow.
The first booking of the match goes to Lovren as he barges into the back of Soldado. The Croatia international has looked all at sea in this second half and deserves that yellow card.
58'
WIDE! Yet again Eriksen has an opportunity as Sigurdsson cuts inside from the right before passing the ball between the Southampton defenders. The Dane has time but can only fire his effort against the side netting. Tottenham would be wise to make their pressure count with the scores level.
56'
SAVED! Spurs are rampant at the moment, and Chadli is the latest to try his luck as he gets in behind on the right before shooting towards the near post. Boruc is down well to tip the ball behind at his near post.
55'
Southampton get in an awful mess as Lovren and Fonte get in each others' way, and they can only just recover in time as Soldado looks to play Eriksen in yet again.
53'
Southampton have certainly been rocked by the speed in which Tottenham have got back into this match since the break, with the likes of Lallana and Rodriguez struggling to impact on the game as they did in the first half. Spurs well on top.
51'
Soldado is again involved and he somehow manages to keep hold of possession despite three Southampton players being in close attendance. He really has had a good game in terms of holding up the ball.
49'
Lovren is down now holding his left leg and we have a stoppage in play. Meanwhile, Sherwood is back in the stands and looks in a much better mood. Will he be required on the touchline in the second half or will Spurs complete the comeback?
47'
Soldado has been excellent today, but he still doesn't seem to have his shooting boots on as he lets fly from 30 yards, only for his shot to disappear into the stand behind the goal. He's certainly in confident mood.
46'
C. Eriksen has scored a goal for Tottenham Hotspur! Assist by Soldado.
C. Chambers enters the game and replaces N. Clyne.
G. Sigurðsson enters the game and replaces M. Dembélé.
Both teams have made a change, with Tottenham replacing the ineffectual Dembele with Sigurdsson while Chambers is on for Clyne for the Saints. Southampton get us back underway...
GOAL!!! What a start to the second half for Spurs, and it's another defensive error. Lovren is too casual in trying to see the ball out for a goal kick, but Soldado uses his strength before squaring for Eriksen, and the Dane can't miss from two yards. Game on!
45' +2
Into the final of the two minutes of stoppage time, and Southampton look set to go in at the break with a lead to hang onto in the second period.
45'
Eriksen swings it goalwards, and Boruc has to be on his guard to tip it over the crossbar. Kaboul then fires wide from the resulting corner. Tottenham ending the half well.
44'
A chance now for Tottenham to create something as Rose wins a free-kick on the left edge of the box after being caught by Davis...
42'
SAVED! Tottenham threaten an equaliser as Chadli's ball into the box is magnificently cushioned by Soldado into Eriksen's path. The former Ajax man is in on goal but Boruc is off his line quickly to smother the Dane's effort. Spurs' best chance since getting back into the match.
40'
Southampton again pour forward as Lallana shows great vision to find Lambert on the right, and after the striker feeds Davis on the edge of the area, the midfielder sees a volleyed shot deflected wide of the post.
38'
GOOD SAVE! Southampton again get in behind far too easily as Cork lobs the ball into Lallana's path, and Lloris has to show good reactions to parry the effort.
36'
A half-chance for Spurs as a free-kick is half-cleared and Dembele is able to send a volley goalwards. His effort isn't a great one, though, and flies well wide.
35'
There are certainly some mutterings of discontent in the stands from the Spurs fans, and it is no surprise given their side's showing so far. The White Hart Lane faithful can be quick to get on the back of their side at the best of times, so it's not a shock to hear them airing their views today.
33'
Sherwood has made his way onto the touchline after starting the match in the stands, and despite his side's goal he looks far from pleased with the way they are performing.
31'
C. Eriksen has scored a goal for Tottenham Hotspur!
GOAL!!! Tottenham back in it, and it's yet another defensive error from a right back. Naughton swings a ball into the Southampton box, and after Clyne allows the ball to slip under his foot, Eriksen can slam home at the back post. A lifeline for the hosts.
30'
Tottenham finally come to life as Bentaleb tries his luck from 30 yards. His left-footed strike is a good one which has Boruc scrambling, and the goalkeeper is relieved to see it fly past his left-hand post.
28'
A. Lallana has scored a goal for Southampton! Assist by R. Lambert.
GOAL!!! Southampton double their lead, and Lallana is the man celebrating this time. The original free-kick is cleared, but after the Saints play the ball back over the top, Naughton makes a hash of the clearance, and Lambert can feed his captain, who in turns slides the ball in. Naughton at fault for both goals.
27'
Southampton win a free-kick in a dangerous area on the right as Lambert takes a boot to the face from Rose. Ward-Prowse to take...
25'
WIDE! Southampton again go close as Lallana holds the ball up for Shaw, and after the full-back shows great skill to get away from Lennon, he sees a deflected drive drop just wide of the post. Spurs look bereft of confidence, especially in defensive areas.
23'
Midway through the first half and Southampton look totally at ease. They threaten again as Lambert shows brilliant technique to control Clyne's ball forward before feeding Lallana on the edge of the box. The midfielder takes a touch before shooting, but his scuffed effort is straight at Lloris.
21'
That's 13 Premier League goals for Rodriguez now, and with a World Cup just three months away, that will certainly please the watching England manager. Could the Southampton man be a surprise pick for the squad to travel to Brazil? On this form, who knows?
19'
J. Rodríguez has scored a goal for Southampton! Assist by A. Boruc.
GOAL!!! What an error from Naughton! A long ball forward from Boruc bounces over the defender's head, and Rodriguez has the time and composure to slide the ball past Lloris. This one does count and Southampton are ahead.
18'
With both teams playing one up front with pacey midfielders behind them, there have been plenty of balls over the top thus far. Not many have come to much as yet.
16'
A first sighting of Shaw in an attacking area ends in disappointment as a ball over the top sends him to the byline on the left. The teenager doesn't quite have the pace to keep up with it though, and can only put the ball behind for a goal kick as he looked to keep the ball in.
14'
Tottenham look to take the game to their visitors, and some excellent link-up play by Soldado almost opens Southampton up. The Spaniard is found by Eriksen with his back to goal, and with one touch he plays Bentaleb in behind. The midfielder has time, but cannot find Soldado with his cross from the left.
13'
A bit of concern for Southampton as Lallana is caught late on his ankle and stays down. Referee Anthony Taylor waves play on, and eventually the Saints captain is back on his feet. Tottenham slightly fortunate to get away with that one.
11'
Tottenham do look very vulnerable defensively in these early stages, with Kaboul and Vertonghen playing very high up the pitch. The pace of Rodriguez and guile of Lallana are causing them problems at the moment and they may have to drop deeper to combat it.
9'
DISALLOWED! Southampton have the ball in the net as Rodriguez this time gets in behind, but as he slides the ball past Lloris, the referee spots the linesman's flag is up and blows for offside.
8'
Southampton certainly aren't sitting back in the early stages, and they possibly realise that Tottenham aren't in the best of form at present.
6'
Southampton threaten for the first time as Lallana plays an excellent ball in behind for Lambert, and after the striker holds the ball up, he feeds his captain, only for Lallana to curl an effort from 25 yards wide. Tottenham's high defensive line was exposed there.
5'
Lovren almost puts his team in trouble as he dribbles the ball out of his own box, only to lose it 40 yards from goal. Spurs look to move the ball quickly but Cork is aware of the danger and is able to clear.
3'
The first chance of the match falls to Kaboul as Eriksen's out-swinging corner finds the defender unmarked, but he can only head straight at Boruc. A let-off for the visitors.
2'
A bright start from both teams sees the widemen in action straight away. First Naughton finds space on the Tottenham right but cannot pick out a team-mate in the area before Rodriguez sees a low cross looking for Davis cleared.
1'
Tottenham kick-off and we are underway...
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the Premier League encounter between Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton at White Hart Lane. Tim Sherwood's side have lost three of their last four league outings, and with their Europa League exit in midweek still fresh in the memory, the home fans will be hopeful of a big performance. I'm Tom Maston and I'll be guiding you through all the action from North London.
Defeats to Chelsea and Arsenal in the past fortnight have seen Tottenham's Champions League hopes hit the buffers, and pressure is starting to mount on rookie manager Tim Sherwood. Louis van Gaal continues to be rumoured with a summer move to White Hart Lane, and Sherwood needs a strong finish to the season to prove he is still the man for the job. An encounter against Southampton will not be easy, but anything other than a win will heap more misery on the boss.
Southampton arrive in the capital not to just make up the numbers, with Mauricio Pochettino's side refusing to go away this season. The Saints have been one of the good news stories in the Premier League, with a win today moving them back up to eighth and just three points behind Manchester United, and with three wins from their last four away matches, they will certainly test the home side this afternoon.
Before we go any further, the two team line-ups have been named ahead of kick-off...
Tottenham are again without leading scorer Emmanuel Adebayor, though Younes Kaboul, who also missed the trip to Benfica through injury, is fit and back in the eleven. Aaron Lennon and Mousa Dembele also return to the league starting eleven after missing out versus Arsenal.
Pochettino makes two changes to his Southampton team from the eleven that started the 4-2 win over Norwich last time out. Morgan Schneiderlin misses out through injury, so Jack Cork comes into midfield, while Rickie Lambert replaces Gaston Ramirez as the Saints revert to a 4-4-2 formation.
If Tottenham are looking for positives heading into this match, they can take heart from their recent form against Southampton, having won four of the last five Premier League meetings between the clubs. The most recent of those wins came in Sherwood's first game in charge back in December, and the much maligned coach will be hoping of more of the same again.
Tottenham will have Roberto Soldado leading the line for them this afternoon, and home supporters will be hoping the Spaniard can at last show why Daniel Levy was willing to fork out £26million to bring him in from Valencia. The Spain striker has managed 75 shots in the Premier League this season, but having only found the net twice from open play, his first campaign in England has certainly been one to forget thus far. He desperately needs a good run-in to gain some confidence going into next season.
There are just over five minutes until kick-off at White Hart Lane, with Tottenham hoping to close the gap on neighbours Arsenal to just six points, though the Gunners have a game in hand. A win at least give them some hope of finishing in the top four come mid-May.
The two teams are in the tunnel and, as always, there is a full house at White Hart Lane. Spurs need a reaction after a chastening two weeks, and Southampton may not be the team they want to face given their recent form.
One interested observer at White Hart Lane is Roy Hodgson, with a number of World Cup hopefuls on show. Southampton's Shaw, Lallana, Lambert and Rodriguez all harbour hopes of making the plane to Brazil while Tottenham's Lennon will also be hoping to impress the England manager.
The two teams are almost ready, and Sherwood has taken his seat in the stand as he looks to gain a better view of proceedings. We are all set for kick-off...
Referee Taylor brings the half to an end, and despite Eriksen's goal and decent fightback from Tottenham, Southampton lead through efforts from Rodriguez and Lallana. Spurs are all at sea defensively and Pochettino will be confident of his team adding to their tally. A big team talk to come from Sherwood.
Despite some excellent finishing, it has to be said that all three goals have come from errors. Naughton (twice) and Clyne were directly at fault, and it will be interesting to see how they react in the second period. I'll be back in ten minutes to see if either can gain any retribution and help their side to three points.
The players are making their way back out onto the pitch at White Hart Lane, and we are almost ready to get back underway...
The final whistle goes, and Tottenham have stolen this one in the 92nd minute. Southampton probably deserved something for their first half performance, but defensive mistakes were their undoing. Eriksen was the star with two goals and an assist for Sigurdsson's winner.
And so Tottenham close the gap to Arsenal in fourth to six points, and though the Gunners have game in hand, Sherwood's Champions League dream isn't over yet. A first win in five matches could be just the boost they need as they enter the crucial run-in. For now, I've been Tom Maston and thanks for joining me.
